This information is intended for experienced users. It is not intended for basic users, hackers, or computer thieves. Please do not try any of following procedures if you are not familiar with computer hardware. I'll not be responsible for the use or misuse of this information, including personal injury, loss of data or hardware damage. So use it at your own risk.

A. By Using the Motherboard Jumper:

In most motherboards CMOS battery is soldered, which makes it difficult to remove the battery. In this case we use another method.

Almost all motherboards contain a jumper that can clear all CMOS settings along with the BIOS password. The location of this jumper varies depending upon the motherboard brand. You should read your motherboard manual to check its location. If you don't have the manual then look for the jumpers near the CMOS battery. Most of the manufacturer label the jumper as CLR, CLEAR, CLEAR CMOS, etc.

When you find the jumper, look carefully. There will be 3 pins and the jumper will be joining the center pin to either left or right pin. What you need to do, is remove the jumper and join the center pin to the opposite pin. e.g. if the jumper joins center pin to left pin, then remove it and join center pin to right pin. Now wait for a few seconds and then again remove the jumper and join the center pin to left pin.

Make sure to turn the PC off before opening the cabinet and resetting the jumper.

B. By Using Software:

I have found that BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:
BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is a program that works instantly to remove any lost or forgotten BIOS/CMOS password. Simply boot your PC to DOS and execute the program, and get access to forgotten BIOS/CMOS passwords in just seconds

Hello alchamist_to,

the following information is from the dewassoc web site. It's a great article on clearing the Bios or CMOS password: http://www.dewassoc.com/support/bios/bios_password.htm
--
These are some of the default Bios passwords used with different Bios's, give them a try first.
* AMI - concat
* Award - AMI_SW (case sensitive)
* bios - AMI!SW/
* setup - AMI?SW/
* cmos - j262
NOTE: With respect to the Award BIOS, the "AWARD_SW" (use without quotes) and (is is case sensitive) password should even override a set password! If not, you may also want try j262 as the password.->

Hello, My name is Vahe and I have got the following problem, I have forgot my BIOS password and I can't to turn on. Laptop model Toshiba satellite A200-13M. So I have got some solution to delete...

The most common way that most of us know on how to reset or clear the BIOS password is to physically remove the power from the computer by disconnecting the power plug and then removing the cmos battery for 30 minutes from the motherboard. Another way is to reset the clear CMOS jumper on the motherboard itself. Both of the 2 methods mentioned works because most motherboards use a battery to sustain the BIOS/CMOS settings for the motherboards PROM chip. So by cutting off cmos the battery power, the BIOS/CMOS settings will be erased. Hope this helps

My qosmio f15 av201 no sound, unable to setuo soundmax

Have you tried downloading the most recent driver from the Toshiba support site? The site can be found here: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp Select your laptop's make and model, and look for the category "Driver" and "Sound". There should be a link to download the ADI WDM Audio Driver. Install that driver on your system and reboot.

There are many known ways to reset / remove / bypass the password:

* By removing the CMOS battery

* By using Backdoor BIOS password

but if it is the windows password,then you have to use a windows password recovery tool to reset the password.

Forgot bios password.Ask for master password code7C0186BD

If you forgot your bios password, remove the battery, unplug it, open it up, pull out the cmos battery, and hold the power button for 10 seconds to drain any residual charge. Boot without the CMOS battery; the password should be disabled at this point.
