1. It may be due to some driver conflict.
2. I suggest you to check the ports for any metal/materials being got stuck into which may cause the power conflict. disconnect all the hardware connected to all the uSB ports in your system.
3. Right click on the yellow icon show in the device manager control panel and select uninstall option against all the yellow ions.
4. Restart your machine and this time your USB port should be working fine.

I hope this is helpful to you

Hi,

Right click on the yellow flag and uninstall the corrupt driver. Restart the computer, plug a USB device in and it should be resolved. If not post back.

Regards.

Shut down your computer completely, unplug the power cord from the back
for at least a minute (this drains the power from everything). Make sure all devices are unplugged like printers etc.

    Then power it back up.

This seems to be a common problem with Gigabyte motherboard so your not on your own with this problem.

The only thing that i can suggest now is update the BIOS and download the chipset driver from Gigabyte support website.

Also try a Microsoft update, that may resolve the problem for you.

Let me know how you get on.

USB devices not recognised or not working properly?

Try these steps to reinitialize your usb ports on your pc

1. Unplug ALL USB devices connected to the computer. If you are using a USB mouse and keyboard, temporarily use the older type PS/2 devices if you have them, if you don't then just leave them connected.

2. Hold down the windows key and press r

3. Type devmgmt.msc into the run menu and press ok

4. Click on the + sign next to the Universal Serial Bus Controllers

5. You might need another mouse to do this if you have a usb mouse.. I recommend you get a ps2 connector mouse which goes into the green round connector in the back of your pc.

6. Right click and uninstall first the usb root hubs. all of them then uninstall the rest of the devices you see under Universal serial bus controllers

7. Ones you have uninstalled everything you should see the Universal serial bus controllers there at all.

8. Now go ahead and restart your pc.

9. Ones you have restarted the pc your usb ports will reinstall in a moment stand by while it installs all of them. If you get warning messages click ok or continue installation.

10. Now go ahead and plug the usb devices back in. Install software if required, all usb devices if not faulty or broken should work now. Also note the error code if you get one?

This solution doesn't fix all usb problems so if you have a yellow ! mark there and device status reports a error code. Then it might not be a problem with your usb ports.

I have 500GB transcend Portabale hard drive but not working, need installation driver or some thing other ?

External hard drives connected to the USB port do not require any additional drivers for WIN XP, Vista or Win 7. If it is not being recognised at all then the USB converter inside the box is faulty. If the PC recognises the USB converter but not the hard drive then the hard drive may be faulty.

My USB ports won't work on my gigabyte MA69VM-S2 mobo with win7

Unlikely to be issues with the OS. Have you recently upgraded to Win 7 from Vista or XP? and did the USB ports work with this OS?
Do ALL usb ports fail or is it just one or two and are these the front USB's or rear USBs?

Sandisk micro 2 gb not recognised on win xp laptop works on other machines. pls help

Sometimes windows XP doesn't install the driver to recognize your USB ports. For example, a fresh install of XP does not contain any driver for sound or graphics. The best way is to update your windows XP up to Service Pack 3 by installing SP1 and SP2... etc, it will take a looooooooong time, but your PC would be better.
To check whether or not you have any USB drivers install just go to control panel and then device manager. Look for Universal Serial Bus (USB)

Usb not recognized

if you use it on win 95 or win 98 or vista you need specfic drivers for you usb disk
if you get this on win xp please change the usp ports and use another port to insert the disk one of the ports has to recognise.
if the problem persists the usb port controllor on motherboards needs to be checked for faults or uninstalled drivers ,
if nothing works try a pci to usb internal card and dont forget to loaad drivers . this card has 3 to 6 ports for usb
