Error message 1324. The path My Pictures contains an invalid character. Version 2.5.2.36 Can I remove? Can I update so my Quickbooks program can update? Need help please!

There are 3 possible reasons why you are getting this error message:

1. An invalid character in QuickBooks installation path.
2. An incorrect path setting in the Windows registry.
3.Insufficient hard drive space available to install the QuickBooks program.

To fix this problem, please do the following:
  1. Restart your computer, and reinstall QuickBooks.
  2. Confirm that at least 2.5 GB of disk space is available for installing QuickBooks (Quickbooks 2010 requires 1.5GB of disk space):
    1. Double-click the Computer (for Windows 7 or Vista) or My Computer (for Windows XP) icon on your Windows desktop.
    2. Note the amount of free space shown in the window next to the drive letter where QuickBooks is being installed:
      • If the amount of free space is less than 1 GB, free up disk space before installing QuickBooks or install QuickBooks on a different drive.
      • If the amount of free space is greater than 1 GB, proceed with step 2.
  3. Remove invalid characters from the QuickBooks installation path:
    1. Right-click the Windows Start button and select Explore.
    2. Navigate to the path shown in the error:
      • If there are non-alphanumeric characters in the name of any folder in the installation path, right-click the folder and select Rename to remove them, and then reinstall QuickBooks.
      • If there are only alphanumeric characters in the installation path, proceed with step 3.
  4. Create a new user in Windows to rewrite any Windows registry settings that may be causing the error and log in as that user to install QuickBooks.
Note: You must be logged in as a Windows administrator or as a member of the Administrator group to add a new user.
If this solution does not resolve the issue, you can read discussions and post messages and questions relating to your issue on the Intuit QuickBooks Community site for free, or you can contact a technical support agent for additional guidance. Fees may apply.

Quickbooks 2007 was the first version to be compatible with Vista. You will need to upgrade your version.

Error 1935 shows up when installing quickbooks Pro accounting 2009 from disk

Quickbooks requires the Microsoft .Net framework. Error 1935 indicates that this is either not installed, or the wrong version is installed. Take a look at the box to find out which is required (1.0, 2.0, or 3.5) and do a Google search for that (Example: .Net 3.5 Download). When in doubt, install the latest (3.5).

Does QuickBooksPro 2005 version run with windows vista

I think Intuit draws the support line at 3 years Even though you have probably registered your product, if there is any trouble with it and the new computer, you will be on your own. I think you would be putting yourself in unnecessary jeopardy to upgrade as you describe at this time. (Your business depends on your computer and software, to operate) You must also be aware of Vista troubles.

If you are in the market for a new computer, you may opt for the new Windows 7 OS and possibly upgrade your Quickbooks at the same time for maximum benefit.

If you have the Vista computer - you already have the Quickbooks, it costs nothing to give it a try. Presumably, you have a XP computer with Quickbooks on it now ... If the Vista - Quickbooks combo doesn't work out you could upgrade the Vista to Windows 7 ... you have nothing to loose in this senerio.

I hope I have provided a little insight for you to consider.

Will WIndows upgrade affect QB Basic Ed 2003?

I cant seem to find the manual for OS support. If windows XP is supported, the program works the same. For Vista and Win7 don't know really. Always when you're in doubt, makes the backup default.

Quickbooks

Have you tried reinstalling your Quickbooks? From time to time Quickbooks does have errors related to their updates. The 1st step I would suggest is back up your company data file, and then uninstall, shut down, and then reinstall. Then you can import your data file back into Quickbooks. This should resolve your issue.
