take the back off the tv and inspect the glass fuse off the ac power cord, it will probably be black and open, this is a common problem, it blows because the degaussing circuit works too slow, the original fuse is an 6.3 amp fuse, you need to replace it with a 6.3 amp slow blow or a 7 or 8 amp fuse to keep it from blowing, if you put an original 6.3 amp fast blow fuse in it, it will work for a while, but will blow again someday.
A slow blow fuse is also known as an anti-surge fuse the idea being any sudden "spikes" in you mains electric when you switch on would blow a quick blow fuse. Anti surge fuses are designed to tolerate any sudden initial electric pulse.
Thanks for this post. It inspired me to replace my fuse in my TV and it is working great now... I took pics of the process in case anybody wants to see what they are in for. http://joedotcom.com/2009/09/01/panasonic-fuse/
Although I did use a 6.3a fuse (just like I removed). I read on another forum that you can replace it with a 7a fuse and get better results. I have had this TV for years and this is the first blown fuse. If it becomes a reoccuring theme, i may up it to the 7a.
It will work, the amp rating is most important, 125v / 250v does
not matter.......note: if you blow the fuse again, the TV will
need service.................T.
if you open your tv , you have to put back the board, there are 2 clips one on left other in the right that keep the board to the case of tv( you have to disconnect the cable AC before open the tv) you can see the fuse easely ( if i remember good there is only one fuse about near the switch on /off
