I have two ipod video's a1099 and a1059, They were dead wont turn on wont charg,, I got two new battery's The a1099 came on with new battery and had about 1/2 a charge, charged it last night just to find out it was almost dead the next day, it shows that its charging but its not The a1059 just keeps showing the icon " Power adapter plugging into wall" The battery shows 1/2 charged in other ipod, i tryed to reset this one no help.

Tried to do a restore on my 40 gig Ipod A1059. It started the restore and then it went to a screen showing a wall adapter. I always charge via USB and don't have a wall adapter. Help!?!

your battery is dead. fit a new battery, or take it into a shop and get them to fit a new battery. I had the same problem with mine (ipod video) and its been perfect ever since.

I don't know about you deleting stuff with iTunes, but I can help you with syncing your ipod to iTunes. Just pluf it into your computer when you have iTunes. Press sync.

Did you try resetting the iPod? If the battery were dead then when you plugged it in, you'd still see something popping up on the screen. What's possible is that your screen got disconnected from the iPod logic board or otherwise got ruined. When you try turning the iPod on can you hear any noise inside? If you toggle the hold switch does it show the orange light? If you can't hear any noise and it doesn't show the orange light, your iPod's logic board probably died. You can get a new one off eBay and replace it if you're comfortable opening your iPod. Otherwise, you can sell the broken iPod on eBay for a decent amount.
