How to fix the Weaver NightView #849397 power button short.
I'm a fix it kind of guy and a friend of mine has two of the Weaver NightView #849397 Monocular that don't work. Right away I can tell that the power button is melted. I bypassed the main on/off power switch and it did not turn on and it drained the batterys. So my question is, do you know how to stop or fix the short and make it work normally?

Jemenie!!! Apparently Weaver doesn't know what to do. Call the big boss and give a ear full. It could be a bad switch, broken wire, bad image tube, faulty ccfl inverter, multiplier. Without some troubling shooting it, it is impossible to tell. stewbison
Hello, sorry, it is a bad image intensifier tube. 90% of the troubles with these Russian manufactured tubes they are not manufactured very well. Poor quality control on many of their consumer goods...junk. GB,,,stewbison
There is no reset for this kind of problem. The chances are that the flyback transformet is shorting, horizontal output transistor is bad, or possibly bad power supply board. The unit will have to be opened up and troubleshot. Some RCA units seem to be prone to this problem, and a friend of mine paid $300 twice within 6 months, so I can't vouch for RCA's long term reliability.
Hope this helps.
You base must be compatible with the type of mounts you use. You will have to get a gunsmith to fix them so if you decide to use weaver mounts for example, the logically you would use a weaver rail. Be cause different mounts have different holding methods, first select the scope you are going to use. Once decided then find a set of mounts that you are happy with and from there you select a rail that will accommodate your mounts. If in any doubt, ask the person who is doing the work for you for advise.

Friend such problem occurs when there is a shorted parts inside.it doesn't turn on for now because built I.C. of printer and pc has an auto shut off lever that automatically shuts of every-time time the board has an unusual problem especial short circuit.

1.try to check the connections of the power chord be sure it is not shorted.
2.Check the power switch button of the printer maybe there's something stuck on it that makes the connection shorted or faulty.
