DVD Remote I need to purchase a new remote that is compatable with my Panasonic DVD/CD player, Model number DVD-F87

Hi, make sure you Comcast remote is in the "DVD" mode before attempting to work the DVD features. If it is still not working. You need to reprogram your Comcast remote to a different Magnavox DVD code because the code it is currently set for not fully compatible. If you need the instructions to reprogram your Comcast remote go here. If you would like to purchase a new Magnavox DVD player remote you can also search on Replacement Remotes for your DVD player's model number located on the back of the unit. If they have it, it will show for purchase.

Google the model number with "remote" to try to locate one.

Not much you can do without a remote for this model except play 1 disc (CD or DVD) manually at a time. You could try to obtain a replacement of the original remote directly from Panasonic, or you can look again for your lost one in your home, or you can try a (cheaper) universal remote with this unit. The cost depends on what type of remote you get and where you buy it from (if you order through Panasonic there may be an additional shipping charge). Sequential play (one disc after the other automatically) usually can only be set using the remote.

The fact is, this player needs a remote for full functionality If you want random/sequential play for multi discs, the original Panasonic remote is required - try ordering this first if it is available. If not, then consider a universal. (you could also look on eBay for a similar DVD player remote for this model)

The DVD players remote has a button called subtitle or a logo of a TV screen with three dots at the bottom. Press is to change the language or keep pressing till you get last option called off. That should disable the closed caption, but remember when you insert a new disc you will have to do it all over again.
