Power went out at home and used gen for refrigerator. Cranked just fine on third pull. Ran for about 5hrs and I believe ran out of gas. Next day filled gas and was going to run bowl dry but would not start. Found no spark could hold hand on spark plug. Found yellow wire and yellow with red stripe coming out of Robin Oil Sensor Mod. 224-76204-11 Lot # OSF61-6D-1A that had plastic cover on end that looked like something had chewed on plastic. Yellow wire were not touching. Didn't know if fuse might have gone there. Do you have a wiring diagram for motor and I would also get one for generator. Thank You, Bruce

there are some magnets behind the flywheel to cause the battery charging system to recharge the batt. sometimes they come unbonded/loose from the flywheel and cause the engine to become hard to turn. I would start there first.
You didn't indicate the age of the unit, hence the oil consumption which can be under heavy hot laod, I believe they are two different issues. With the motor home sat not on shore power, and the gen off measure the battery voltage at the generator battery wire, it may read around 12V start the generator and re-measure it should jump to around 13.8V if it does then the gen battery charger system is intact, which then you need to check vehicle battery converter is working. If you don't have 13.8V then the cause is most likely a stator battery winding, or rectifier.
There is at least one and possible two fuses and one most
likely has failed. You need to remove the blow fuse and replace it. Mine were the size of two D sized batteries
put together.I have a generak 10k and I
experience same problem. I purchased two new fuses and all is well.
Older VW's and Audi's are notarious for this type of behavior. You actaully need a Vag or good diagnostic tester to tell you which plugs are mis-firing. You will need to replace a coil-pac or two. VW's issued a recall notice about 3 months ago about this issue and intends to re-imburse owners on certain models and years for coil-pac repalcement. After market coil-pacs should cost less than $50.00 each. Hope this helps.
Check your tank for contaminants (water, trash, dirt, monsters, etc), as well as the balance of the fuel system. You may also need to remove the carburetor and clean it out, particularly if the generator has sat for more than a month with fuel in it (most do, including mine) and now has deposits. The only thing that the choke does is make the mixture rich by cutting off the air.
And just for grins, look at the spark arrestor screen on the muffler. This can be related and problematic as well.
