Good news and Bad news
Good news... Yes it works with Windows 7
Bad news... It needs the windows 7 drivers, and you cant download them from hp, you have to order and pay for a driver CD

You might find simple drivers from other locations, but they might be infected - so use an up to date virus scanner on anything you download. Getting a free CD direct from HP is the safest way to go.

As an update to the posted problem, I have got the camera software loaded by opening the disc contents and then opening folders and clicking on individual setup arrows. This after the auto setup for the disc, repeatedly failed to work with the XP home SP3.

As this is only a partial success and not the way it all should have installed, I am now talking to HP about the issue.
Yes the camera now works on my XP operated laptop, but not all the arcsoft and HP add ons work yet. Watch this space.

try to reload the again if it persist then using a new window xp sp3 disk.
