Sebo X1 - Doesn't work although there is power

The power supply to the hoover is fine and I've dismantled it and checked that there are no blockages. The red lights appear for Bag being full and on the Brush indicator, when turned on the machine just hums and nothing else happens. I did check the brush and have removed this and replaced it. I also checked that the drive belt was attached and this seems to be in order. Any thoughts? Thanks

I'm not sure about this one but, as nobody else has picked it up, I'll give it my best guess. You say the machine just hums - by which I take it that there's no suction at all. I wonder how old your Sebo is... if it's seen a lot of work, it's more than likely that the carbon brushes in the motor have worn out and need replacing. This is not a difficult job, but you do need to be comfortable tinkering with machinery to attempt it yourself. Otherwise you will need professional help. If you want to do it yourself, post a reply here and I'll give you step-by-step instructions.
Good luck!

The cable is jammed in the sebo hoover winding unit, gentle persuasion wont get it out - how do I get to the cable to unjam it?

Have you tried holding down the release button whilst pulling out the cable? It could be the clutch mechanism has not released or engaged.. Assuming the cable didn't double wrap at some point.if this fails it may require you to dismantle from the base.i have worked on sebo vacs , they are a German company and very well made that can withstand harsh treatment without bits breaking off.but if you do decide to dismantle...disconnect from mains power source....take photos at each stage and be methodical ...keep screws to together for each section and if you come across springs try not to remove them before you know how they locate back into the correct positions when it goes back together.good luck!

Sebo upright barged hoover- good suction using hose, brush wont turn, sounds fine when running, nasty wineing noise when stopping?? help!! i love my hoover, have checked for bolckages....

The real clue seems to be the brush is not turning, a bad belt is possible or a blockage at that head, if you cannot get the brush moving the rest does not matter.

Our Sebo Automatic x1 will now only pick up with nozzle. Hight adjustment doesn't seem to operate and no green lights display. No blockage found, roller works okay. Help! Wife becoming v. angry.

The belt on the motor shaft is probably slipping off. I have the same problem and that's what I saw when I opened the vacuum. I keep putting the belt back, but it slips off again. The belts aren't supposed to stretch. I am going to call Sebo and take mine to an authorized service place to make sure that it is just a stretched belt.

SEBO X1 tripped out, fuse OK, is there an internal trip to reset?

It seems I'm the only Sebo expert contributing to this site at the moment, and I'll be glad to help you but I need more information. What do you mean by "tripped out"? Do you mean it just stopped working, or what? Do any of the lights come on, or does the machine seem to be completely dead? How old is it (roughly)? What is the condition of the flex (especially where it goes in to the plug, and where it goes in to the rubber grommet on the handle)? Is the rubber grommet damaged at all? Any other damage anywhere?
The answer to your question is "no", there is no internal trip to reset. The machine will only cut out if it gets too hot (because there's a blockage somewhere) and it will reset itself when it cools sufficiently.

Sebo automatic X1. After switching on the motor

As sure as possible without actually seeing your machine, the carbon brushes on the motor are worn out. They are quite easy to replace (and not expensive). If you need help with doing the job, just post a reply here and I'll guide you as best I can. If you choose to have a professional do it for you, it should take no more than half an hour's labour.
I hope this has been helpful - please remember to score me! Good luck!

No motor when switched on and 2 red lights flash

Your Sebo has switched itself off to prevent damage. The flashing red lights indicate that the brush roll is jammed and that there may also be a blockage somewhere. You should take the brush roll out and make sure it is clear of obstruction, and also check for blockages (in the inspection flap on the underside, and in the plastic pipe and the flexible hose), and check the condition of the filter in the bag compartment. If the brush roll is clear and the problem persists, you should seek help from a professional repairer as something is probably broken inside (although with Sebos this is extremely rare). Good luck!

Replace power cable on Sebo X4 vacuum claenaer

From memory the plastic part slides up a little, enough for you to access the wiring. I'll try and have look at work tomorrow.

Warning though! you need to do this work with the handle laying flat, the screw hole upwards - it may be already too late as there is a nut that slides away and can be tricky to get back

Sebo automatic x4extra 1300w

Check for any blockage in the hose or the inlet by the brush roll. Is the brush roll jammed? There are 2 circuit boards, one for the 12V power supply and the other is the computer controller, one of these may have gone bad.
