I have plugged mine in and it says it is working properly, it says it is broadcasting in messenger, but there is no bandwidth in the statistics and I can't find the camera in my computer at all. I am running on vista home basic and I guess I am wondering if I need a driver as well.

1st You download Webcam Driver.
Web cam driver
After this install the Webcam driver in the system.
Installation of Webcam Driver
Go to the control panel
Click on the System Icon
Click on the Hardware Tab
Click on the Device Manager s
Select the Unknown Device or printer device where yellow Question Marks sign on it.
Right click on it and uninstall it.
After this go to the top of the device manager and click on scan for hardware changes.
Driver installation Wizard start.
Brows Your Driver from the Hard Disk and click on next.

It sounds like you need to update your driver for the web cam. Step 1: Go to device manager Step2: Find the web cam in the device list Step3: Open Properties Step4: Have the device manager search for driver.
Other option: with the web cam unplugged from computer, in device manager uninstall the web cam, restart computer, then plug web cam into computer and let OS find and install drivers.
