Water dispenser keeps freezing
If this is a newer model GE side by side refrigerator, this is not uncommon. what you can do to check to see what is going wrong, remove the toe plate at the bottom front of the unit. Under the freezer door, you will see a white plastic water line, with an inline connector about 4-5" from where the line comes out the bottom of the door. this is normally a blue push-in type connector. On this connector, you will see two white sleeves on either side, push in on this sleeve while pulling the corresponding water line section out of the connector, if you squeeze the sleeve enough, the water line will slip right out. Place a towel on the floor, make sure both ends are on top of towel. Now, breifly actuate your water dispenser trigger, see if water comes out the exposed water line. If water comes out, your entire water dispenser system is OK, but, the water line in the freezer door is frozen, in which case the only way to melt it, is to turn the unit off, open the freezer door, and blow a fan for a few hours, to melt the ice INSIDE the door. You could also buy a new door, but that is very costly.
If no water comes out the exposed water line, then either your water filter is clogged, or you have a bad water valve solenoid
First time we fixed by putting in a new water filter on our Cafe French door frig. Just stopped working again, replaced the filter again. Did not work immediately, so raised the temps. top and bottom about 3 degrees. Kept pressing on the water dispenser occasionally, it started working again, after a few hours.

Some have said that if you are fridge is still making ice, then your water line may be frozen. So you need to let it thaw out by leaving the freezer door open. Figure out somewhat to try and keep the cold air in by using plastic sheeting or something, until the line thaws. You can't dispense water with the door open, so reach up press the button that makes it think its closed and try to dispense the water..or just shut the door to test it out. I am going to try this when I get home today, because I am having the same problem on my GE model# GSH25JFTA BB.

thats a water tank holding water dfor the dispensor, if everything in refrig is freezing quite possible that the water in tank froze as well, which would explain no water,

faulty thermastat or on some boxes could be sensor. if unit has a rectagular plate on back side appr. 10" x 14" look for sensor located in bottom left side of freezer. replace. if not there is a thermastat located in the fresh food side where your control knobs are. both of these possibilities are simple to change. good luck.
