Use a card reader to download to a folder you create on your desktop. From there, you can import to iphoto.

Mac does not recognise my camera

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as iPhoto or Nikon Transfer.

How do i transfer my pictures to a mac

Assuming your using a USB cord to transfer, plug the cord into the mac and the other end into the camera. If you have iPhoto installed, click and open it. iPhoto should recognize the storage device and ast to import your images.

Does this camera work with macs OS X 10.5. I am able to download picts into iPhoto, but they won't stay there, they disappear. I have kodak c813 easy share.

When you connect your camera to your mac, iPhoto may open up and display the photos from your camera on screen (look to see that the camera is shown in the lefthand sidebar in iPhoto). However, the photos are not stored on your computer until to click 'Import'. After import, your photos are copied into the 'iPhoto Library' and now stored on your mac.To find them click on 'Events' or 'Photos' from the Library menu on the left sidebar.
If you are still having trouble copying your photos from your camera. Try using the 'Image Capture' app in the Applications folder to transfer photos from a camera.

Does nikon coolpix S10 work with mac os 10.6.4?

The camera doesn't care what computer you have, let alone the version of the operating system.

The current version of Nikon Transfer only supports 10.6.2. ViewNX2 does support 10.6.4. Once the pictures are on the Mac, you can continue using iPhoto, or use ViewNX2 (or both) to organize and catalog your pictures.

It will not open iphoto on my mac osx

Get yourself a Card reader. Take the card out of the camera and plug it into the mac (Your printer may already have one built in) The card is a USB mass storage device and should pop up onto the desktop without bothering with the camera. iPhoto will not open automatically so just drag the card contents onto the iPhoto icon in the dock. It will then open up and transfer all the pictures automatically.
I haven't plugged my camera into the computer now for about 3 years.

Can't download large movie files to iphoto : (

i found the answer to my own question above and thought i'd share.

rather than iphoto, you can use "image capture," which is software that comes standard with the mac.

-Turn on your camera, and connect it to your computer with the cable that came with it.
-Close iPhoto if it opens automatically. Open Image Capture (Applications folder).
-Click Download Some to choose specific items to transfer, or click Download All to transfer all items.
If you click Download Some, choose the items to transfer, and click Download.

By default, Image Capture transfers still images to your Pictures folder, video files to your Movies folder, and music files to your Music folder. To choose another folder, choose Other from the Download To pop-up menu, then click Download Some or Download All.

Iphone not recognized in iphoto

As for iPhone Not Recognized in iPhoto issue, you can have a try the 3rd-party iOS data transfer tool - Leawo iTransfer to transfer photos from iPhone to computer. Just follow the below steps to do that.

Step 1. Run Leawo iTransfer and connect iPhone to computer with the USB cable. The software will recognize your iPhone.
Step 2. Click the name of iPhone and choose Camera in the left sidebar. The iPhone photos will display in the right part of the software window.
Step 3. Hold Command/Shift key to select the photos you want to transfer, and click the transfer button at the right bottom. Or right-click one selected photo and choose Transfer to > My Computer.
Step 4. After selecting photos, you'll see a pop-up dialog. Check Save to Folder and click Change to choose a folder on your computer to save the photos. Then click Transfer Now to start to copy photos from iPhone to Mac computers.
When the transfer finishes, you will get the photos in target folder. If you want to transfer photos which are synced from computer, you can choose Photos library in the left sidebar of Leawo iTransfer, and select photos to transfer. With Leawo iTransfer, you can easily copy photos from iPhone to Mac, and you are also allowed to transfer other kinds of files with this software, for example, you can transfer music from iPhone to computer with Leawo iTransfer.

If your computer has a SD card reader, you might be better off putting your memory card into your computer and just copying the data.

Have you made sure your iPhoto is up to date? Perhaps a new update caused this problem.. Maybe you should try an older version of the software. Also, you might want to try other software. (I think you are on a mac?), you might want to try the software that came with the camera, if it works on your computer.
