Hi, I have a Casio Cassiopeia EG-800STD Pocket

Hi, I have a Casio Cassiopeia EG-800STD Pocket PC. It hasa been used as a communication aid for about 4 years. I keep having problems with it and I'm wondering if the battery is coming to the end of it's life.
Can you tell me approximately the lifespan of a battery, and is freezing of the screen possibly linked in to the battery. Also can you tell me what type of battey I need, are they easy to get hold of. thanks

Yikes, this is a tough one, as i havnt used one of those in well over 10 years.. i do remember the battery life was around 5-8 hours max.. getting a new battery for one may be quite difficult. you may check around ebay however be warned that this is over 10 year old tech and you may be just purchasing a battery that is over 10 years old with no knowledge of the quality of the battery. My personal "opinion" is to get as much of your information out of it while the device still works, and replace it with a modern device such as a small android tablet or blackberry.

Trouble with installing Windows CE

You do not install Windows CE, it is built into the Cassiopeia. What the CD is is the software for your computer to interact with the Cassiopeia.

You will want http://www.hpcfactor.com/ftp-root/software/microsoft/activesync/activesync-38/MSASYNC.EXE

My Cassiopeia came with a 4 digit pass code on it from another user how do i get that off of the computer so i can use it

Casio claims that once a password has been set in your unit it can't be reset without losing all data. You can try resetting and see if that works. Use ur stylus and press the reset button for about 3 seconds.

Cassiopia EM500 sync issue

First of all ensure that the port selected on the EM-500 for PC connection is the same as your actusl connection - i.e. USB or serial. There were some problems with the EM-500 cradle which would not allow communication to be established between the PDA & the PC/Laptop. Contact Casio for rectification. It is done free of charge.

Cassiopeia E100, is there anyway to view excel files?

Yes there certainly is. Get SpreadCe programme from ByeDesign. It can handle .xls files upto & including Office 2K in native format. Have no experience with Office XP. As a matter of fact I find it better than Pocket Excel included in CE 3.0 and later. I store my files under My Documents folder on the CF card using a USB card reader/writer. Hope this helps.
