My iron is different to yours but i used to have leaks as well.

for me it was because i have a heat setting dial that indicates that the steam function is activated when set to a very high temperature.

i also have a push lever on the top of the iron that controls how much, if any, steam is produced by the iron.

the amount of steam is regulated by letting more or less water through to be vaporised by the heating element.

if the heat setting is low and the steam setting has not been switched off then water is being allowed through but the element is not hot enough to vaporise the water. the result is water pooling and either dribbling through onto the clothing you are ironing or running off when you sit the iron up.

maybe it will help if you turn the steam setting off while the iron is not in use.

How do you fix a seal on a Rowenta Iron?

To try and seal the water leak will possibly render the appliance dangerous.
I would speak to Rowenta and ask the question. They may well extend the warranty if you suggest it wasn't used for say a few weeks after purchase etc.

How to fix water leaking out of bottom of Rowenta steam iron

I'm on my fifth Rowenta iron. The first four eventually started to leak. I keep buying Rowenta because I get the best results except for the leaking. I've been using filtered water even though the manual sas to use tap water. I will start o use tap water. The fifth one I bought was highly rated by Consumer Reports. If this new one starts to leak, I'll bring it back and buy a different brand.

Rowenta superpress DG 050 leaks water while steaming all over garment. Do I need to Descale the unit?

I've had the same problem with two Rowenta irons. When set to a lower temperature, the iron has a bad habit of leaking water when the steam option is on. I have to either turn up the temperature setting or shut off the steam option.

I have a rowenta iron that leaks a lot of water

Here's a solution . . . Do NOT buy ROWENTA! I've had 3 Rowenta irons. All of them have eventually began to dump water out of the base. . . heck, the Titanic didn't leak as much as a Rowenta iron!

Iron leaks water from the back end of the base

This problem is the way that rowenta seals the water tank. If the iron is disassembled and the seal is properly put on it will not leak,, however this seal is a silicone based product and not just an off the shelf gasket. I have sealed and repaired some using a high temp silicone
