First, if you can, check the charger to confirm that it is outputting current to batteries. If the charger is working, your problem may be due to worn out batteries or corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, your batteries may need to be replaced or the camera may require professional repair.

take out the batter and clean the copper terminals with a sharp knife, plug into the charger if still not working leave for 30 seconds and re-try, it took me four attempts.

My suggestion is to open the battery door on your camera and remove the battery for 60 seconds. Then put the battery back in and close the battery door. Then try charging it and powering it on

have been having the same problem. Just pulled the lead out straight and stretched it and now it is charging red light on constantly. May have been a kink in the lead?

if you still have the original disk put it in and u should see and option saying manual it has the entire manual on PDF format

Hey ppl, my camera has just doen the same, it wont charge although it works completely fine in all other cases. Ive had it just over a year. Has anyone tried using a new cable? Or is it defintely the camera thats the problem? Either was a simple solution is to buy a charger for the battery itself, one thats independant of the camera. Its not as convienient, as you need to remove the battery and place it in a stand to charge, but it does solve the problem :-D They cost about £10.
