I assume that your Telstra LG TU550 IS UNLOCKED AND NOT NETWORK RESTRICTED. Your SIM card could be locked due to wrongly enteriing your pass key wrong at least 3 times: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO enter the wrong pass key again as after 10 total attempts, the SIM WILL SELF DESTRUCT and will need to be physically replaced at a cost. Solution: Contact your sevice provider for the SIM and get them to give you the Phone Unlock Key (PUK) associated with your SIM (you will need to prove you are the registred owner of that SIM card and Mobile number). Alternatively, if you have registred the SIM online, the PUK code is either already available online or can be requested online. Hope it helps and let me know how you go.
