If you bypass the clock, how will you maintain a steady temperature, include safety features, or program functions?
What you seem to want is an outdoor grill. DO NOT bypass the logic board on your oven, sir. Help Me Find My Model Number RepairClinic com
The display control board may have failed, check for 110v at molex connection, next look for a circuit fuse on the control board. If the above is good, replace control board from eBay.
First things first. The oven element is totally separate to the grill element. The clock has to have a time set for either the top or bottom oven to work, whereas the grill will work without the clock being set. The control knob for the top oven is the ONLY control that will turn the top oven lights on, the grill does not turn the lights on. ( If you want to watch your toast, you have to turn the top oven switch on to the first setting as well as operating the grill control). To prevent the grill being operated with the door shut, there is a micro-switch on the door hinge that allows the grill to operate ONLY when the door is down. The grill control also does not illuminate unless the door is down. There are two options on the grill control - right or left. One way is the inner element only and the other is both inner and outer ones.
It is most likely that the oven heating element has failed and will need to be replaced.
This not an overly expensive part to have replaced and should be much less than the cost of buying a new oven although you would need to compare actual costs in your area.
I'm sure you must have had an answer by now, but just incase anyone else has the same issue. The ovens don't work unless the clock has been set (happens after a power cut). To set the clock you need to hold down the left-hand two buttons (underneath the clock) and at the same time press either the + or - button.
we had the same problem - a power cut then the clock flashed up 'auto' preventing the oven from working.
After downloading the manual from the rangemaster website we learnt that all you need to do (for the classic dual fuel anyway) is to press in the 2 buttons on the left and set the time using the + or - keys. Dead easy and Christmas dinner is back on!
Your electronic oven control (clock) has failed. This being a new appliance, it will be covered under warranty. Call the dealer and ask for the manufacturers warranty/customer service phone number or ask if the dealer provides warranty service. You will need to provide them with the Model and Serial number to obtain service, so have this ready when you call.
After service is complete, please connect your oven to a quality surge suppression/arrestor device.
