The answer lies in your question.. "it took over one hour to compose".. this make it possible for browser and mail account to stay in some what idle position. so next time first have compose mail in document and send message by coping to specified content and have fine...

if you have "drafts" concept, try to initialize while starting message and then your mail will proceed for auto draft with out error, so there would be no loss of message also.. have fine...

How to sent an electronic mail?

Most people these days know how to send an email - the first thing you need is the recipients email address.

Then, usually using the email facility provided by your internet service provider or that supplied by Yahoo or Google (gmail) and select compose when an email form will pop up. Simply complete the destination address, the title of your message and the message itself and click on send. Once the email form is locates the process is largely intuitive.

I receive emails on my mac and some I forward to friends, but their unable to open them youtube etc and ask I send again but when I try I cannot open either. Please Help

Hi Richard. Thers a good chance you have mail preferences setup to compose new emails in "plain text". And/Or, "Use the same message format as the original message", meaning if you reply to someone who sent you an email that is in Rich Text Format, then your reply will be in Rich Text Format but, if they send you an email in Plain Text Format, then your reply, and possibly any forwarding will be sent in Plain Text also.

For website addresses to be "clickable links" in mail, you need to ensure all emails you send, forward, or reply are in Rich Text Format.
go to Mail... Preferences... then select the Composing tab and ensure Message Format is set to "Rich Text".
Further below in the same tab you will see "Responding" and a tick box for Use the same message format as the original message (Respond using Rich or Plain Text).
If you always want to respond or forward in Rich Text only and every time, then deselect that option.
All links should work and be clickable from then onwards.

You can highlight a non working website link in the email body, right click, then select "Link" then "Add Link" to make it clickable but, you will receive a notification about converting this message to rich text format?"

Basically, the links will not be clickable if you are setup to compose new emails in Plain Text. Nor will any replies or forwards you send that are changing to Plain Text to match the format received by you from others.
Always end, reply and forward in Rich Text Format

Hope that helps.
Regards
Paul

Cannot send e-mail

Email Will Receive but Will Not Send b> According to the Radicati Group, a technology market research company, over 107 trillion emails were sent in 2010 -- that's roughly 294 billion emails a day. Moreover, the company estimates that there will be 3.8 billion email accounts by 2014. With so much activity, some users are sure to run into trouble when trying to send a message. If you are receiving emails but can't send them, it may be due to a number of issues, most of which you can quickly fix on your own.
SMTP Authentication b> Many email clients and providers require that your outgoing email messages are authenticated by an SMTP server prior to being sent. This authentication process adds an additional level of security and helps prevent junk mail from being sent out. If you have SMTP authentication disabled, however, your email will not be authenticated and will not be sent, even though you may still receive emails. To fix this issue, enable SMTP authentication by placing a checkmark next to the option in your email client or provider's Settings menu. b> Port 25 Blocking Port 25 is the port that is used to send email. Whenever you attempt to send an email, the email is routed through port 25 and the data is transmitted to remote email servers. If this port is blocked, you will be able to receive email but you will not be able to send it. Some Internet service providers block this port on their servers, so if you suspect that you are unable to send email because of port 25 blocking, contact your ISP and request that the port be unblocked. No Default Email Account b> If you do not have a default email account set up on your email client, and you haven't selected a specific account when composing the message, the client will not be able to deliver your email. A sent email must always be tied to an email account to protect other email users. To remedy this issue, specify a default account in the email client's Account Settings menu, or specify which account you want to send the email from when composing the message. b> Anti-Virus/Anti-Spam Scanner b> If you have an anti-virus or anti-spam scanner installed on your computer or as a plugin for your email client, it may be preventing your emails from being sent. This happens when the scanner times out while scanning an email for viruses or spam content, or when it detects what it believes to be a virus or spam while scanning the message. To remedy this issue, disable the anti-spam or anti-virus program, then send the message as normal.
Hope this helps.

Which 'send' button do I use?

It doesn't matter which one you click on, they both work the same.

When composing a new message or replying to one sent to you, both SEND buttons (upper and lower) will do exactly the same thing.

When you are done typing your message or response just click on either SEND button and whatever you just typed will be sent to the recipient.

Good luck.

Joe.

How can I retrieve sent email. I sent it to a wrong person

On the left hand side of your gmail window there is a sent mail link. If you click on that it will show all the mail you have ever sent. From here you can find the email you sent, open it up and copy the message from it to send to someone else. *** for getting the email message back, unfortunately that is impossible, once a message is sent there is no getting it back. Sorry.
Good Luck and vote for me if this answer helped you out. Cheers.

I write a response to an e-mail. When I hit send I get the password verification. When I put it in I get my mail but the response I sent has been eliminated. In other words I can't responding to any of...

One of the reasons why after composing your email and about to send, it opens a password verification. It can be that your response has been idle for a couple of minutes or you have no keyboard activity for quite a while before hitting the Send button.

If you are composing long emails, you can first compose it into notepad or wordpad and then if you're finished, copy and paste it on your message box. Then hit send.
