Connected to network but cannot load any webpages

I have installed the DWL G630 adapter and used the driver and utility from the DLink website. I am able to see my network and seem to successfully attach to it. But when I try to load any website I get the Internet Explorer can display webpage message. When I check the Link Info it shows data being sent but hardly any received.

check is to make sure you are NOT using "IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network."

You can find at setting under "Wireless Network Connection Properties" and then under "Authentication" tab of your network properties.

This particular authentication method is periodically logging you off the network and re-authenticating.

Check the adapter in device manager to make sure that windows is not shutting the adapter down to save power.

Right click the wireless connections icon in the system tray.
Click Repair and let it do its thing.

Sometimes simply turning the router on and off doesn't work. Try to unplug the power cord for 1 minute then replug it.

Make sure that the routers password is the same as the wireless laptops adapter

Connecting an adapter to laptop running linux

Yes/No. Dlink has no support for Linux. Ubuntu should install generic drivers but it may work or just epic fail.
