I want to be able to hook my casio keyboard WK-3000 up to my PC, play songs, and save them on my computer. How can I do this? I don't want to transfer files already saved on my keyboard, as that function is broken. I want to play them and have them get saved on the computer.

Get a sterio cable and plug one side to the 1/4" stereo lineout/headphone jack of the casio and the other end to the line in of the pc.
I want to be able to hook my casio keyboard - c7d6eab.jpg Download a free software called audacity from here.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XR3DYV08

open audacity and click on record and start playing once completed stop recording and you can export as a wave music file through your file menu.

If there is any audio in problem try unmuting the line in in the volum mixer recording section

You will need a Midi encoder. It could be a card you install in your computer or an external box.

You need an SD Card that is 1GB or smaller. Once you insert the card, it will ask you to format. The card can save 256 midi-files only.

The SD Card can be used to save/load songs, midi-files to/from the limited 4K keyboard memory.
If you have IDES driver & software, the software can load/save midi-files to/from the SD CARD to computer hard disk too.

It sounds like the sustain is stuck on as if a sustain pedal is active. You don't mention if you have one, however if you MIGHT have one and you have used a Roland pedal, that brand is reverse sensed and would cause note to remain on.

I have the a Casio Keyboard that has an SD slot, but whenever i put songs on my SD card & then plug it into the keyboard, it says that there is an ERROR . What am i supposed to do . Step by Step . to...

Does it say ERR NO FILE? If so, then read on. The reason you have this error is because you don't have a folder on your sd card named MUSICDAT. Solution:
  1. Insert your sd card into computer
  2. Make folder called MUSICDAT.
  3. Then, transfer all files inside the folder (make sure your songs are in MIDI format).
  4. Safely remove your sd card.
  5. You're ready to put it in you Casio Keyboard!
If you still get the error, take time to read you manual. Read the "using the sd card" part. The folder name might be different for your Casio Keyboard (because mine's a CTK-5000).
...and IF you still get the error, perhaps the songs you meant in your question are MP3 songs (like the ones you play on the iPod)? Then, that's a different topic... :)
Well then, good luck!

Casio WK 200 keyboard, USB doesn't work

You may need to install the drivers to give the computer to fully recognize the keyboard. The computer may see the keyboard, but isn't recogning it fully due to the lack of drivers.

SMF converter for wk-500, Does it exist?

No.

I have a Wk-8000 & a CDP-200R, the later is the same as wk-500 but with 88 weighted hammer keys.

Since wk-500 can play SMF (Midi 0 & 1) format directly from a SD card and there is enough polyphony to play anything, I don't find any real reason to convert SMF to any "Casio Format". Just get a 2GB SD card and put your SMF files in the MUSDAT folder for the SD CARD using your PC/MAC.

Casio LK 200 and smf software

If you have the smart card slot you can save your songs to the memory card by using Anvil Studio which is a free program. Save your midi song in Format 0 and be sure to use channel 4 for right hand playing and channel 3 for left hand. Be sure to keep the file size under 80k if you have other channels active for other instruments!
