IPod 30 GB stopped working

IPod 30GB, white, stopped working after an electrical outage. No response to being plugged in.

    wont charge on cradle/computer or i pod hi fi , nothing comes on screen when pressing to come on

My ipod classic stopped working & wouldn't turn on. Plugged in to the computer with itunes & got no response. Plugged into docking radio for recharge & it didn't work. Called Apple service.

Apple guy told me to 'reboot' by sliding the lock switch back and forth several times quickly. That worked. He said you can also reboot by holding the center button and the Menu button simultaneously.

30GB iPod video has been charging for 13 hrs, still won't turn on
Have you tried the usb cable in a different port or if that does not work try a different usb cable. Or try your ipod on another computer. Hope this helps.

30 gb ipod has sad face and low battery icons
could be bad charger or time to replace the battery. lots of places sell new ipod batteries.
does it work if you leave it plugged into your computer for a few hours? if it does not then its a bad abttery.

I have an older 30 gb video ipod and that worked jus fine but when i pluged in a newer ipod nano it doesnt connect and it does with a brand new 16 gb ipod touch. is there anyway to fix this problem?
When you synced to a newer version of iTunes, everything was fine, until you connected the nano and
the touch, which worked fine, and then you tried the 30 GB again and it would not work, right?

Upgrade the software in the 30GB, not with your original 30GB disks, but with newer disks supplied NOW
by Apple, since iTunes went to version 8.1.1 and everything should be back in sync.

Unlock my ipod
I assume the unlocking your ipod is the combination that locks the screen and not the little white tab on the top of the iPod. By plugging the iPod into itunes it should unlock it. By restoring your iPod you erase the lock but also your music. If may stay unlocked when you remove it from the computer. Good luck.

Apple iPod Model A1136, 30 GB.
First make sure your hold switch isn't on. It's on the top or bottom and slides back and forth. It needs to be switched to the left. Once it is to the left, here's how you reset:

You can reset your ipod by holding down the menu and select (round button in the center) buttons down for at least 10 seconds. You'll see an apple logo flash, that's when you stop pressing the buttons. It will shut off, then back on.
