755p issues when the phone resets, all the custom ringtones that were recorded and assigned to each contact, reset to default.  The ringtones were recorded on the phone as the name of the caller.  I have go through every contact and change the default to the specific sound.. other issue, is when traveling, I set the roam preference on home only so I dont roam. but when I hit okay, it reverts back to allow roaming

I have this steps for you for work around setting up call ringtone. Hope it helps.
--- there should be no prob to set a custom tone if you go to the tone and select options you should get an option to select from a list from the menu otherwise go to profile and select edit then when you come to ringtone select options and you will get options you should be able to select a tone from the gallery

---I discovered something about this problem. It appears that if you have the same phone number assigned to two (or more) contacts the ringtone plays the default ringtone. Once I deleted one of the contacts with the same number, it played the correct custom ringtone. What is strange is that both contacts had the same ringtone. BTW, the reason I had done this was to simplify the voice command to make a call to this contact.

To assign individual ring tones:

1) you must go to the phone book, highlight the wanted contact, click on options and then edit.
2) scroll down until you see the section "ringtone" and click on it.
3) Then choose audio, then ringtones. click on the ringtone you want, you must listen to it first, and then click on "select".
4) if you want a ringtone to be something you've recorded, click on "my voice" rather than "ringtones"

ur wrong about using a video file. I tried that and gives u no option to do that. on way is to use the voice recorder and assign from there under custom ringtones.

Before you can assign a ringtone to a contact, you must first go to "settings" and then to "ring styles". Click on "Detail" and go down to "Ringer IDs". Make sure it says "On". After that, you should be able to assign a ringtone to a contact by editing the contact details. (Custom ringtones are at the bottom of the list instead of at the top.) Hope that helps.

Do you often change your sim card. If you change sim card it may happen.

U can only assign any mp3 ringtones only if it is placed in Phone memory. U need to make phone memory as default storage device. U can do it by going to options when in multimedia->pics/sounds/video clips.

You can use a FREE program for the palm OS called minitones, you can yahoo or google it, which will allow you to convert mp3s you have on your SD card or on the phone to a ringtone that you can assign to a contact. minitones.prc

If you set the profile ring tone to OFF. Then select a contacts' number and assign it a Ring Tone. When that contact calls you the Ring Tone you assigned will ring.
If you select the same Ring Tone for all your contacts in a group they will all sound the same when they call.
Or select the same ring tone for a profile, but cancel the Tone you assigned to the contact(s).

I think you are going to have to hard reset that to get it back to factory default. Sorry.
