Driver software problem with Olympus FE-210

When I try to update driver software for my Olympus FE-210 an error message occurs. It reads as follows:
Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.
An error occurred during the installation of the device.
The driver installation file for this device is missing a necessary entry. This may be because the INF was written for Windows 95 or later. Contact your hardware vendor.
If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit it's website and check the support section for driver software.

I already checked the website for driver software and it says that nothing is available at this time. I'm trying to transfer the images from my camera to my pc.
Does anyone have a solution to my problem? Where can I get the necessary driver software for this to work?
Thank you to anyone that can offer any help!

When you plug in your camera it should show up as a "Mass Storage Device" and add a new drive under My Computer. You can then access the camera directly through that drive and just Copy-Paste the images to a folder on the PC hard drive...

If the camera does not show up as a Flash Drive, then I would suggest installing your software on a friends computer (one that uses WinXP) transfering the files to their machine, then emailing them to yourself, or sticking them on a small flash drive and taking them home...

Windows 7 driver for an olympus FE-210

Currently, you can't.

Olympus have not yet released a Windows 7 driver and given that it is an ultra low cost model I doubt that they'll be in any rush to do so.

All you can do is to try and find a Windows 7 compatible xD card reader, but given that xD is now an obsolete format that might also prove to be difficult.

The only remaining option will be to install your current driver onto Win7 and try to run it in compatibility mode.

Sorry there's no straightforward/guaranteed fix here, but these issues always arise with an upgrade to a brand new O.S. version and it often takes up to a year to find out which products will be supported on the new O.S. and which ones will be consigned to obselescence.

Have olympus fe-210

Unfortunately this camera is not compatible with either of those operating systems. The firmware in the camera was designed to only run with Windows 2000,XP or Vista operating systems. The operating systems you mention do not have the necessary USB support to even get the camera to be detected.

Disk will not load on computer!

Try uninstalling the software. If this is for a Vista computer you will have to check on Olympus.com for updated Vista drivers

Error to install

I find the solution to this problem installing an earlier version of this software and when I open Olympus Master 2, ask me for update and that´s all.

I hope that can solve your problem, or you can contact me, to send the software XD202Setup version. 2.11.15.0

I'm needing a driver for my FE-280

I went to Olymbus website to find the driver for the FE-280 Digital camera and it states, no software availble at this time.

They show the camera on the website and I know there is a driver for it, but they are not supplying the consumer with it. Bad choice for Olympus.

I have given you some information and links below:

http://www.olympusamerica.com/files/FE-280%20Instruction%20Manual.pdf

This is the manual for your camera.
Go page 45 at the very bottom. Using a New Card

The FE-280 does not recognize my memory card. What can I do?
First, refer to the xD-Picture Card™ Compatibility Chart to verify that the card is supported in your model. If the card is not supported, return it to the store where you purchased it.
The FE-280 may not recognize non-Olympus brand media or a card that has been formatted on another device, such as a card reader or personal computer. As a general rule, xD-Picture Card media should only be formatted in the camera. Card readers should only be used to copy files from the memory card to an external device.
You may be able to use the card if you format it in the camera.
Warning: Formatting a media card will delete all content on the card.

When I put an xD-Picture Card™ flash memory card into my camera and turn it on, I get a “Card Error” message. What can I do?
This message occurs when the camera is unable to recognize the memory card or when an attempt to format a card fails.
If you see this message after inserting a brand new card, refer to the xD-Picture Card Compatibility Chart to verify that the card is supported in your model. If the card is not supported, return it to the store where you purchased it.
If the card is supported, it may need to be cleaned. Wipe the gold contacts of the card with alcohol using a soft cloth or tissue. When the contacts are dry, insert the card and turn the camera on.
If the Card Error message still appears, remove the card and insert a different supported card into the camera. If the camera reads the second card, then the camera is working properly and the problem lies with the original card.
You may be able to use the card if you format it in the camera.
Warning: Formatting a media card will delete all content on the card.
If you receive this error message after a failed attempt to format the memory card, the card may be defective. For assistance, contact Olympus’ Customer Service and Repair Center using any of the following methods:
Phone: 800-622-6372

http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/OM_UpdateSoftware.asp
This is about updating the olympus Master Software.
