My Dell Studio 1535 doesn't prodcue a sound anymore. I can't figure out why. I checked the mute button, I checked the sound in my control panel and everything looks normal. This happened to me when I first got the laptop when I input headphones into the headphone jack and couldn't get the sound back to the speakers.

I have seen questions about the diagnostic codes (volume/mute LEDs) on Dell Studio 1735 1737 laptops where the Mute and Volume up lights stay on while the Volume down Blinks. So far as I can tell, by searching the web, no one has posted the meaning of these lights.

Well here is a link to tell what the light codes mean. If your system has power but is not performing a POST just check if the mute, volume up, and volume down multimedia buttons are lit in a sequence indicating a system problem.

once it has a microphone..

click start
all programs
accessories
entertainment
volume control

oow when the window opens,, click options and then properties
from volume control click recording..
make sure microphone has a check mark in the box next to it
click ok
now your back to the main screen,, look for microphone and unchecked mute
send the volume slider up about halfway or more depending on how sensitive you want it

Should be on a sticker located on the bottom of the laptop. Or on the box you got the laptop in,

Uninstall the Dell Dock!

You need to un-install & reinstall your webcam driver.

The media control strip has a small cable connection underneath the strip, make sure it is connected properly. If no change, the strip will need to be replaced.

Firstly check that the microphone level is down or turned off as this sounds like some sort of feedback that's being produced.

Check the microphone and try to play music again.

I have a Dell Studio 1737. I have install IDT 92HD73C1 v6.10 2009-02-17, Dell packed R204591.exe.
In the Control panel Sound, tab Voice, Mic device click button "Volumen" (spanish version) and select Internal Mic insted of Mic.
