Red power light flashing but no picture

The same thing happened to my Panasonic TH-42PW5 this Saturday, January 6. We had been looking at television and all of a sudden the screen went black and the red light starts blinking. When I turned the television off and then turned it back on I got the same thing. Unfortunately I did not renew my extended warranty. I'm having the same problem on TH-42PZ700U. The set comes on for a half second then goes out. Power indicator flashes 7 times then pauses and repeats. Set is only 5 months old, and Panasonic is sending a repair tech out in 4 days. Why so long??? Very frustrating... I'm having the same problem on TH-42PZ700U. panasonic viera TC-P50C2, Never had any problems before, quality, picture, sound, everything worked great... that is until today... out of nowhere screen went black, no sound. when i try to turn it on it makes a quick triple click sound and blink red 10x pauses for about 3 sec and repeats the blinking cycle. if i hold the power button in for 15 sec it stops the blinking. this is the only way to get the blinking to stop unless i unplug the tv. HELP!
