Try restarting your computer, and while its booting up, tap f8..

then choose last known good configuration..

If that doesnt work for you, try using the keyboard to navigate to system restore..

The first step is pressing the windows key on the keyboard, and then by using the tab key and enter and the up and down arrows, navigate to

all programs, accessories, system tools, system restore..

Then perform a system restore to a time before this issue started

Wireless mouse and stick won't work

Have you tried to add a mouse pad under it. I have a capricious mouse myself that has to be on a pad to work fine. If you don't have a pad just try it on a dark surface, no glass that's the worst one...

It can also be a simple battery matter, distance is also important depending of the communication technology in use.

good luck

Re toshiba techra 8000

Some laptops have a touch pad between the keyboard and the edge of the laptop. This works like a mouse except you slide your finger around the pad to move the mouse pointer and the buttons next to the touch pad are the left and right buttons.
Other laptops have a small round button in the middle of the keyboard which is a mini joystick and it is used to move the mouse pointer around, it will have a couple of mouse buttons at the botom edge of the keyboard.
You can connect a normal mouse to your laptop, it is mush easier than using the laptop's touch pad or mini joystick.

Cursor runs all over the screen w/o moving hp wireless mouse

Your mouse could be defective, but let's try a few things first. Try to remove any wireless devices close to it (i.e. wireless router)or try to plug it in a new USB port. Last thing try to use a very dark mousepad. The laser respond to reflection so any white on a mousepad combined with some sun light could result in a free for all mouse pointer.

GE wireless optical mini mouse

Not sure if it could be a mouse issue or a surface issue. Some things to keep in mind: 1. Most mice have a "channel" buttof on the bottom used to pair it with the wireless base. Try pressing this a few times to see if you get the desired effect. 2. Surface has a lot to do with quality of the mouse tracking beacon. I suggest dropping $10 on a mousepad. I have a mouse pad with a wrist rest I paid $15 bucks for and even though the mouse doesn't move as fast as on the desk, simple changes in the Control Panel for mouse tracking solved this issue. 3. I am not one to harp on a particular mouse manufacturer but I have had a great deal of good experiences with Logitechs line of mice and keyboards. Hope this helps. D.
