Where can I find a switch for my Hilti TE 72 drill?

sds is a standard adopted by all rotary hammer drill manufacturers
It is the design of the slots and grooves in the end of the drill where it goes into the machine
it allows for many drill manufacturers to get their drills to fit any rotary hammer drill
early ramset drills used a special drill but they found that it was better to use the standard as well

if the motor get hotter then normal this mean that the motor is coming to an end .
normally the armature or the coils of the motor starting to break down . but can be renewed , if the armature is broken that is the expensive part

the reason for loosing power is that the motor winding or the coils are going down ( meaning that the isolation is wearing )

Change brushes they might be damaged

More than likely the con rod is broken. To check remove the shift lever on top by removing the center phillips head screw. then with internal snap ring pliers remove the snap ring.put your phillips screw back in with out the shift lever. Take a pair of pliers and grab the screw and pull the shift boss out. You then can see if the con rod is broken or not. The bad news is those parts are hard to come by.

Around 50cc's if it is still wet. 70cc if dry inside

It could be that your connecting rod is broken. You can check by taking your shift lever off of the top of the gear housing and then removing the snap ring to remove the shift boss. That will allow you to look at the crankshaft and connecting rod. If it is broken I would check with Hilti to see if they still carry parts for the TE 72.

Do not put it in hammer mode and try to unscrew the chuck! This will break the housing internally. To remove the chuck you will have to put a chisel in the chuck. Lock that chisel in a big vice. You will then have to put a pipe wrench on the chuck to unscrew it. It is regular threads but there will be loctite on it. Once that is off your will have a spring and two roller bearings to remove before you can slide the bell off. You will then have 8 5MM screws to remove. This will remove the chuck. You will then have a snap ring to remove. After that you can remove the whole cylinder assy. More then likely your connecting rod is broken.
