I have a problem with my K-Jam, often the screen becomes unresponsive, even while trying to align screen, I tap onto screen and either there's no response or I get response from a different cell...i.e. it looses alignment.
How can I resolve this problem?
Alignment has been an on going problem with my unit, approx 18moths old. Hard & soft reboots and then re alignment have fixed the problem momentarily, with alignment being a problem when switching between touch screen and slidde out keypad. The problem worsened 2 days ago when touch screen totally unresposive, no matter what. My phone gets a hard life as it lives in my top pocket (pouch is useless) and I am a construction / maintenance electrician. It suffers from dirt, dust, humidity, sweat and steel filing inhilation, but evacuated & blown out regularly. It also stops giving event alarms when required, only purges itself when soft reset occurrs and then gives all at once for approx 5 mins. It also fails to ring - loudly, internal earpiece ceases to operate occassionally untill 'knocked' into operation, Apart from that, when its good its very good, when its bad its useless, because it cant help its self or inform you of the problems,

if its been water damaged or anything like that to where the screen is even cracked or scratched touch phones are very sensitive and yes it might need to be replaced.
You cannot upgrade to windows mobile 5 , but you sure can upgrade to windows mobile 6. I have i-mate jam with wm6.1 installed. Here is the link with this rom version. inside is a file with instructions : http://rapidshare.com/files/257201043/HTCMAG_ROM_WWE_O3.rar 100 % working
there is a bug with the i-mate jam bluetooth , it may cuase this when this happend try to enable and then disable the bluetooth, if it works agian there is a file fix this bug in the bluetooth from club i-mate site try to download it
look sir, the operating system should be installed from your PC not from the i-mate so you will have to do the following: A- install microsoft activsync to connect the i-mate to the PC B- download the windows 6 file C- connect the i-mate to the PC then open the windows 6 file by double click it , it will guide you to instll the operating system on your device note: windows 6 mobile will not properlly work on i-mate jam you will find a problem when you use it, so my advice is to install the 2003 CE and install all it's updates this will be batter than that
tap the screen at target for few moment untill align screen does not go.it takes several attemp.after align screen disappear time & date setting option appear.set it.after this window will reinstalling.it takes few minutes.after this phone will be started.

this problem can occure once in a whaile.
you should do the "Align Screen" process.
tap "start", then "settings", then on the Screen icon and in the generasl tab get to the Align Screen
you will have to hit the target on the screen until the screen will be align again.

Well, folks i had the same problem with the damn i-mate K-JAM model but i have figured out its solution. Well screen alignment options will always come on ever reset whether it is hard or normal and further more it would be nail biting for most of us because it doesn't work at all. It seems like some sort of a bug either in Windows Pock PC edition or HTC manufacturing bug. Whatever u call it only we would be the victim of it. Here is the solution.
When the alignment screen comes Just Tag the {+} << in the exact centre it will then move to the top let corner of the screen again tag it from the middle and it will then jump to the lower left corner now don't tag it from the middle instead tag the lower left corner of the screen. It will then move to lower right corner of the screen now tag it again in the middle and finally it will fly to the top right corner now again instead of clicking in the middle just hit the top most right corner of the screen and now u r done. Screen is finally aligned whoops!
Sometimes even when the screen is aligned the touch pad malfunctions if this is the case with you u need to update the firmware like i did just search through Google the i-mate k-jam windows Pocket edition update.
They can tend to have a freeze now and then
Make sure you havent overloaded your memory & make sure your screen isnt slightly open
mine refuses to answer ever now & then when someone rings
it drives me crazy
