I have a fan just like that one to change a light bulb all you have to do is unscrew it from the fan itself and if that dosnt work then unscrew the plastic cover or unscrew a screw on the plastic cover

Make sure if you have a wall switch for that area, that the wall switch is on. Otherwise it could be a bad receiver. Hampton Bay is just a low-cost store brand fan. You get what you pay for!
Turn off the fan before you climbing the ladder to remove the dead bulbs
Note whether a screw secures the shade or if the lightbulb holds the shade in place.Unscrew the lightbulb counterclockwise. If the bulb is securing the
shade, grasp the shade with one hand while removing the bulb.Install the new lightbulb by turning clockwise into the socket. If the
bulb holds the shade in place, keep the shade in position with one had
while screwing in the bulb with the other.
try this. turn off electricity, take a raw potato and push it up into the socket, then use the potato to unscrew the bulb, no kidding , this has worked.
Melanie, you must have gotten a bad batch of bulbs. I have installed over 100 Hampton Bay ceiling fans and I have dropped them from up the ladder and have them bounce across the floor with no damage. I think they must have allowed a substandard batch to go out.
Home Depot is where I buy my replacement bulbs. Hampton Bay make fans exclusively for HD.
You can easily change lighting bases, as the wiring is the same for all Hampton Bay. You may even appeal to Hampton Bay on the internet and they might send you the kits. But I don't think you'd have success in a store.
If you try replacing them with bulbs from another Home Depot you may find them much hardier. I wish you the best of luck, and if you need additional help please write back.
I had this same problem with a Hampton Bay fan with a remote light switch. I call the manufacturer of the of the switch and was told that the model switch I had would not work correctly with CFL bulbs. The problem is with the dimmer function. You either need to change the bulbs to incandescent, or change the remote receiver in the ceiling. Hampton Bay was kind enough to send me a new receiver that works with CFL. The CFL units are white, and the incandescent is black. Hope this helps you.
I found the solution on the web. The only place it looks like that has this adapter is voss lighting. Here is a link to the adapter. http://www.vosslighting.com/storefrontB2BWEB/itemdetail.do?action=prepare_detail&itm_id=18159&itm_index=7
