Hi, I need to verify when my windows vista was activated so I may obtain the exact date I purchased my notebook.My windows ap was installed when I purchased my unit. Is there a way you can help? Thanks; Larry McCarter

If this is a brand new computer then that means that the Windos Vista installed in your computer is only a trial version which has an expiration date that's why its asking you now to purchase the Full Version of Windows. You can contact Microsoft to purchase a full version of windows vista or try to verify to the manufacturer or the store where you bought if the computer only comes with a tril version of windows vista.

If you are using a serial nr obtained from a " freeware " download center , Microsoft will identify it as illegal and will prevent you from activating your O.S. You need to purchase a genuine serial key on their site .
If it's not the case , you will have to call the Microsoft Product Activation Center at 888-725-1047.

Did you format and reinstall Windows XP from a clean install? You will need to do that and then pull an XP driver. Chances are if Toshiba designed your system with a factory OS of Vista they didnt put the XP driver for your system on their support pages. YOu will need to pull the specifications for your exact model and see the manufacturer of your sound device/card. Then go to the manufacturers website to obtain the drivers for XP.

If you have purchased a copy of Windows with your PC there will be a license stick on the side of your case. That will contain your product key. To activate you can either active via internet or you can contact the microsoft activation center to assist you.
If you purchased a boxed copy of Vista Ultimate then there will be a product key on the back of the box.
If however, you have installed a copy of vista ultimate which was not purchased (e.g. copied from a friend) - you will need to purchase a valid license from Microsoft.

You can't get a Windows Vista Key on forums like this you have to buy it directly from Microsoft getting a key in thru forums or even Ebay is Ilegal you can only get them at www.microsoft.com .

ok...first u must format your hardisk...then install windows vista without entering it's cdkey...after completed installing, u have 30days to verify your vista....just go to my computer icon and click right to choose properties...at the bottom screen shown next is windows activation..enter your product key there while connecting to internet...from there u can verify your original cdkey...hopes it help... ; )

If you installed Vista from a box that you recently purchased then the key is on a yellow label on the back of the pull out section. If your PC originally had Vista and the label was on the bottom of the machine then Microsoft should it with your registration.
