Typically when a phone is asking for a PUK code it means you have tried to edit or set the secuirty pin code. Unfortunately these codes are already predefined by the sim card and the service provider. It gives you the sensation that you can set or change the code but you cannot. You get 3 attempts to enter the correct code after which the phone asks for a PUK code. When it asks for the PUK you also get three tries to undo it. Again PUK codes are predefined by the sim card and the service provider. If you call your service providers technical support number or customer service number they can provide you with the PUK or the PIN code.
>>>> Once the PUK has been entered in wrong 3 times the sim card is shot and deactivated. At this point you will need to get a new sim card to get your phone up and running again. If you have numbers stored to your sim card and not to your phone you will have lost them.
