LOL, "non-hacked" version of windows - way to advertise your indifference to software pirating to the entire world... Anyways... I too have the same problem and I've tried all available drivers from ECS's website to no avail.
Try going to the motherboards manufacturers web site and downloading them from there. That should help you out.
Get online
and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "ASUS
Support" or "Nvidia Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support).
Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating
system when requested. Download and install the Audio drivers.
You can also try Driver Guide at:
http://www.driverguide.com
Try using the VLC Player. It comes with drivers and codec. I've seen it solve many sound issues.
Try using VLC as your player. Go to www.google.com and
in the search box type "download vlc" (without the quotes).
Look for the Video Lan download from site www.videolan.org/vlc Download
and install it. It downloads and installs in 3 minutes or so. It's
a very fast player, smooth and it can play just about any type of dvd formats
and media. It's totally FREE.
