Power down the laptop and restart it. As soon as it restarts press the open button on the dvd drive and it will open. You may have to try a few times but it will work.

Look at the front of the DVD unit there should be a small hole drilled into the facia

Insert a straightened out strong paper clip into that hole and push , the drawer will pop open

There should be a small hole beside your eject button on the dvd writer. Put a pin in that hole and push. The dvd will be ejected.

You can manually eject the DVD disc by inserting a paper clip (straighten it first) into a tiny hole just below the drive tray. Push the paper clip gently in the hole and the tray will pop out slightly, then grab the tray and pull it out so you can retreive the DVD disc.

Dvd door won't open for Sanyo DVW 6000

If you are trying to eject a disc, look closely at the front bezel of the drive, there is a small hole near the eject button, push a paper clip into the hole (straightened paperclip) and the tray will be ejected.

If the DVD door is stuck and will not open through ejecting via the icon in My computer, or the eject button on the bezel will not work, you likely have a faulty drive that will need to be replaced

Dell xps m1330 dvd drive will not eject cd inside

Im a dell tech, and i hate those cdrom styles, but, that is what the consumer wants, so we make them. Try starting the machine, then press F2 to enter the BIOS. once in the bios, press the eject button. listen for any noises, (an attempt to eject). if you hear a sound, it means the drive should be capable of ejecting the disc, and perhaps the disc has not seated correctly. If the disc will not eject, you must contact Dell. This is from the DELL dcse site: " Optical Drive The XPS M1330 has a slot-loading optical drive instead of a conventional tray-loading module. There is no mechanical eject mechanism for the drive to eject stuck discs. This means you must replace the drive if a disc gets stuck in the drive. After replacing the drive, disassemble the old drive to remove the disc for the customer."

Stuck DVD tray

Turn off the computer and then use the paper clip to open the DVD tray.
If this doesn't work, then something is jaming and stopping the tray from opening. In this case, remove the DVD drive and dismantle the drive (ie. remove the metal cover to reveal the internal components and remove the CD ot DVD disc.
If nothing works the the DVD drive is faulty and needs to be replaced, these drives are not expensive.

Help ejecting dvd

I had the same problem and tried for ages (even tried forcing the door open thinking I could just tape it shut) without luck.
Then my very clever wonderful husband had a go (I know i'm crawling and yes my knees hurt).

Any way to the relevant bit. If you hold the eject button down and at the same time slide a knife or similar object round the edge of the door where the screw is near where it says photo/select you'll find that the door opens as this is an override mechanism.
