Only a jeweler can do that. They have a machine that counts the quartz pulses.

I have a tcm 217362 watch with a digital compass how can i set it up to show me north it currently shows cal. and when i press the top right and left button it shows err.(probably error) it is a black and...

Hi john30x,

You have to calibrate the compass.
1. Press the upper right button (switching to compass mode)
2. Press and hold upper left button. The "CALL" will appear on the display. You are in compass calibrating mode.
3. Rotate the watch horizontally (around his vertical axis) slowly, so to be sure that he point the North at least 2 times.
4. Now press the upper left button again to input the
declination (this is the angle between the magnetic and real pole). It is different for the area around the world, that you want to explore.
5. Switch between the positions of the cipher by pressing bottom left.
6. Change the cipher by pressing bottom right.
7.
Switch between the active position by pressing bottom left. Now you have to enter East or West declination
8. If you are ready press the upper left. "END" of calibration will appear on the screen

Once you calibrate and set the declination you can use the the compass by pressing upper right button. As the compass is very sensitive It is good idea to calibrate it on a field, far away of metal objects and electromagnetic fields (cables, ect.). You need to calibrate the compass each time you want to use it by different surrounding.

Remember the compass function of your watch need much more energy than the watch itself. Don`t worry to change the battery when dead. The water resistance remains good even after. Very robust and accurate device. I hope that should help.

Just got my husband a casio pro trek sgw100-1 - we calibrated the compass but east and west are switched - north and south are fine - any ideas? thx

As a pure shot in the dark, are you sure that you calibrated it so that it was pointing to the north when it should be and not to south?

If it was pointing south instead of north, then East and West would be reversed.

Sounds a bit daft but better than the directions of east and west changing?

Check your calibration perhaps?

Can a watchmaker calibrate a manual unitas 6310 without having to do a full service

It is impossible, as overhaul (full service) of any watch movement is necessary part of regulation (calibration). Actually overhaul is the basis of successful regulation and good timekeeping as the result. So, the answer is NO, watchmaker can not regulate the watch movement without overhauling it. Right terminology in watchmaking: OVERHAUL=Full service; REGULATION=Calibration/adjustment. Rate me, please.

Setting and Calibrating Your Altitude

3. Press START/SPLIT (+) until HOME ALTI is displayed (or choose WEATHER when calibrating weather).
4. Press MODE (NEXT) to begin the setting process.
5. Press START/SPLIT (+) or STOP/RESET (-) to increase or decrease setting values.
6. Set the value to your current elevation.
7. Press MODE (NEXT) to advance to the next setting option.
8. Press SET (DONE) to finish.
9. To complete calibration for the REFRENCE HOME altitude (or WEATHER setting), press and hold STOP/RESET until watch beeps.

Repeat this procedure for WEATHER, making sure to choose the proper weather condition on the WS4 that matches your current weather.

Once these two variables are calibrated, your WS4 will be ready to go, providing you with accurate altitude, pressure, and weather forecast information at your fingertips. Enjoy.

Citizen EcoDrive does not have calibre 2100. This is ordinary quartz calibre and uses battery SR-626W. This battery will last for 2 - 3 years and is not rechargeable.

T touch Meteo out by 20 Milibars

Certain functions need to be calibrated. The altimeter and the Meteo are tied together. When a customer gets the watch, they should calibrate to either the Meteo or Altimeter. The easiest way to find out the altitude of the nearest airport (you can usually get this on line) and then go to the airport and adjust the
watch. This will also calibrate the Meteo.

To calibrate the Altimeter:
1. Activate Crystal
2. Press Altimeter
3. Press and hold top + button until the watch beeps and display flashes.
4. Use + and – buttons to adjust altitude
5. Press center of dial to lock in.

I have a Citizen Blue Angels Skyhawk Watch for Him. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to set it to my Eastern time. It's a cool watch but a bear to set!

What is the movement number of the watch? It is a 4 digit number/letter on the back. (something like xxxx - ####### - HST where xxxx is the movement number (or calibre as citizen calls it)
Find your calibre number:

Citizen has tutorials on their web site as well as manuals. You can get it by entering your movement calibre here:
