your HDD may be corrupted, re-installing windows vista is one option. Your best bet is if you have/ can obtain a copy of windows vista run setup and try the repair wizard in the windows vista setup, the wizard automatically finds errors and missing files and replaces them therefore solving any errors in your HDD. you can also try to use the recovery wizard from your recovery disc.
best of luck
Most common cause of this problem is the Operating System (Vista) if its starting to crash or infected of a virus. Reinstalling the Vista should fix this problem but if the problem persists it only means that your Hard Drive are having bad sectors and needs to be replaced. Thanks
The error messages indicate a failing hard drive. Replacing the hard drive will resolve the problem. 0F00-0142 amd 0F00-0146 are hard drive hardware failures, Dell Tech support should replace the hard drive if under warranty.
Go to your device manager and check the driver of your network card. An x mark r an exclamation point means it needs drivers. Make sure you install the drivers from the Drivers Cd that came with you're DELL or you can download drivers at www.support.dell.com
Does your device manager show that you have a wireless network card? If so, you turn it on and off usint the Fn + F2 buttons together. If you need the driver, go here to choose which one you have, and download it.
