5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, choose the drive of your Windows installation and click Next.
6. At the System Recovery Options Dialog Box, click on Repair your computer.
7. Click the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.
8. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Startup Repair.

Please continue with the following instructions if the above suggestion does not help:

1. Put the Windows Vista installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.
2. Press a key when the message indicating "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD ..." appears.
3. Select a language, a time, a currency, and a keyboard or another input method, and then click Next.
4. Click Repair your computer.
5. (Click the operating system that you want to repair), and then click Next.
6. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Command Prompt.
7. Type "chkdsk /F C:" (without quotation marks) and click Enter.
8. Restart the computer and have a test.

If the issue still exits, please move to the below steps:

In-place Upgrade Installation

Technically, you won't lose any data to take an In-place Upgrade Installation. In order to avoid any unexpected problem, I suggest you backup your data before taking In-place Upgrade Installation.

1. Start the computer by using the current Operating System.
2. Insert the Windows Vista DVD in the computer's DVD drive.
3. Use one of the following procedures, as appropriate:
• If Windows automatically detects the DVD, the Install now screen appears.
Click Install now.
• If Windows does not automatically detect the DVD, follow these steps:
a. Click Start, type (Drive: )\setup.exe in the Start Search box, and then clickEnter.
Note: (Drive: ) is the drive letter of the computer's DVD drive.
b. Click Install now.
4. When you reach the "Which type of installation do you want?" screen, click Upgrade to upgrade the current operating system to Windows Vista.

Installing and reinstalling Windows

If both of the above two methods do not work on your issue, please contact the manufacturer to check the hardware.

Follow below steps

1. Insert the Windows Vista DVD into the DVD drive in your computer and restart the system
2. Before booting up again, Press F2 or F8 depending on the type of mother board you have or press the button as per the bootup display to open up the boot menu.
3. select the DVD drive at the boot menu.
4. Now the Computer will boot from the DVD with Vista OS.
5. Go for the Custom install option and select C drive for install. or if there is no partition available, the disk can partitioned there itself.
6. folow the wizard and here you go. Vista is installed in your system now.

Probably the easiest way to resolve this issue is by following the steps outlined below.

1. Shut down the computer.
2. Turn the computer on and immediately press F8 repeatedly until you get the "Advanced Boot Options" menu.
3. use the down arrow to select "Safe Mode" and press enter.
4. Window is should start with a "Help" window.
5. In the help window there is an underlined "What is System Restore?"
Click on that and "Click to open System Restore"
6. click on that and a new window comes up recommending restoring to a previous state.
7. Click ok and the operating system should restore your computer successfully and reboot into normal mode.

You need to update or reinstall the driver for the sound card.Your computer manufacturer support and drivers will have your driver for the sound card if its OEM with your computer. Just enter your computer modal number And operating system find the right driver and install as instructed.
