Connect the correct size tubing to the 90 degree drain on the left side of the unit(above water tray) and knock out plastic cutout on the rear of dehumidifier. Feed into drain.

Hi Graham. Check the hose and the opening to the hose through the base of the dehumidifer. There is probably some debris in there causing this aggravating problem. J.

Had the same problem. Make sure you tighten the house a little with pliers. Also, make sure the dehumidifier is up a lot higher than where you're draining it into. Mine drains into a utility sink. But I have the dehumidifier propped up onto a dresser. I cut a small piece of hose to run into the sink. Seems to be working now.

It will take 5 min or so to establish a water flow, so be patient after you hook everything up. Good luck.

My dehumidifier was running fine until the other day when the water would leak out rather then collect in the pan. Does this mean I need a new dehumidifier?

Before you go out and spend money, check the drain hose to see if mold may have built up in it blocking the drainage.

Dehumidifier collecting water in container

If you have the hose drain tube connected, drainage will defer to it first. If you remove the hose drain tube, the place where it connects to the drain pan drips into the container instead.

Dehumidifier

Hey ya! To fix this u need to block that hose connection under the Dehumidifier. This will then re direct the flow to the Bucket collection mode. I have the same problem and resolved it this way after pullng mine apart. It looks like by default that hose connection at the bottom should have a plug/cap on it and after turning on ur dehumidifier this fills up then once full it starts to over flow into the bucket... Seems a strange design but thats how they have done it.

Hope this helps others.

Drain problem

I have the same problem and after talking (mostly waiting) with Fedders repair, I have been told how to solve the problem. Plug up the drain hole on the right side (the one not connected to the drain hose). The drain hole extends down about 5mm, outside measures 10mm and interior measures 7mm. They do come with a drain hold cover. Not a replaceable part with a number. Off to the hardware store.
