Hi,
I did a search and found this post for you. I hope it will help.
The best-known Elna guru is Ray White, aka "Elnaman". He teaches
classes on sewing machine repair but his speciality is Elnas. You can
order parts or contact him at his website:

or you can contact him directly at:

You can also join the yahoo group "elnaheirloomsewingmachines" where
very knowledgeable Elna owners/collectors share information and answer
questions. Enjoy your Lotus!
You need the Swiss Elna metal bobbins with seven holes on one side only, and slightly dished. They look like this.
Sometimes they will be imprinted on the core with "Swiss made".
You can buy them online from www.sewingpartsonline.com or used ones on Ebay sometimes.
Don't try to use any other bobbin in your Lotus. Always wind the bobbin with the holes on top and load it into the bobbin holder the same way to ensure the thread is coming off in the right direction. Remember to "click" the thread into the tension device spring, you will hear it click into tension.
Remember to always hold the two threads firmly behind the sewing area when you start a seam until three or four stitches have been made to avoid the threads being dragged back into the rotary hook area.
I trust this helps you get sewing on your Lotus. I'd second Joy's comments on Elna Heirloom group too, great owners group to join and very helpful members.
