Internet connection with Sony VAIO VGN-FS115B

I have a Sony VAIO VGN-FS115B using an Intel(R)PPRO/wireless 2200BG network connection driver.

My problem is that I cannot connect to the internet using wireless although it has been working OK up until recently.

The 'wireless network' shows that I am 'connected' and with strong signal strength.

Device manager tells me that my driver (see above) is 'working correctly' and that there 'nothing better' when I requested an update.

I can get onto the internet using an ethernet cable connection.

Another laptop is able to use the wireless internet using the same modem/router as mine so I think I can discount that as a possible cause of the problem.

I would appreciate your help in sorting this out please
Kind regards

Len, in Melbourne

I want to get all my sony vaio vgn-s590b driver program because i cant get wifi signal n lan for the internet'

Hi,

Unfortunately, the Wireless card in the VAIO model VGN-S580B does not support n standard. The integrated Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection Driver supports IEEE 802.11b and IEEE 802.11g standards. It is require to use an external Wireless card to use the n standard.

However, here is the link to download all the drivers for your computer model:

Problems with Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection - Constantly connects and disconnects me from web?

Try using the Sony with an external wi fi adapter. The internal one could be bogus. Before adding new one, go into Device Manager and Disable the existing one in your Sony. Then add the new one with its software.
