I was watching tv and the tv randomly turned off the tv blinks red all the time when i turn it on it goes green then blinks a couple times and goes back to red blinking any solutions? please

The TV worked fine last evening. This morning went to turn it on and the green light flashes then the red light begins flasing. When powered back on the green light flashes for a bit then goes back to a red flashing light. It should be off but the red light is continuously flashing.
I tried changing from video 1, video2 so forth, and it does not display on the screen. When putting a DVD on we do get sound but tried the radio on satellite, doing a blind change on the component and never did get it to go to the right one, only DVD sound comes through.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
It sounds that the main digital board has damaged. 12 blinks indicates it. if you wish to know more check this link for more details about 12 blinks to Emerson TVs
or a new lamp. you could first replace the lamp. the screen might work fine for a couple of seconds, but then it fades away or deteriorates. This means the lamp is going bad.
