SOURCE: Camera turns on but lense does not open

The lens needs to be removed, stripped and cleaned. It's jamned up with dirt or some foreign objects. the drive gear on this model and other similar models e.g. A345, A350, A360,and A370 are all open on the side of the lens unit. Unlike other fuji's where the drive gear is inside the lens unit and less likely to jam. This is a great little camera otherwise. Well, I like it anyway.

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance. Also, please be so kind to let me know if you found this helpful.

Regards
Andrea

Fuji digital camera

I think I've solved the same problem on a Finepix A350. My shutter has been sticking for months now on powerup. I brushed all round the periphery of the shutter with a perfectly clean, small, camel hair brush and now it operates perfectly! So maybe the answer is to keep a new brush specially for this. Hope this works for you! I certainly would not try dropping the camera as someone suggested.

A345 finepix viewer

images obtained from the Fuji FinePix Pro S1 digital camera that are saved as TIFF-YC (also called Tagged Image File Format YCbCr or Yb). TIFF files cannot be opened with any of the programs that are native to WinXP, other Microsoft imaging programs, or most third-party software. The TIFF-YC format is antiquated and you should avoid it. Instead, save images as JPEGs (Joint Photographic Experts Group) or some other format.

YOu shoUld save the file in another format.

My A345 finepix camera isn't working screen is black

If you haven't tried already, try changing the batteries to high-drain Nimh or Energiser 2800MAh batteries. I had loads of problems with my camera until I put stronger batteries in it, now it works wonderfully again.

Fuji FinePix A345 Digital won't turn on

Have you tried using high-drain batteries? 2800mah rechargeables should do the trick. My A345 had all sorts of problems until I used expensive batteries and now it's been given a new lease of life! my camera wouldn't turn on half the time, when it did it turned off as soon I tried to use it, the shutter would refuse to open, all sorts of weird stuff - I have had no more problems since changing to better batteries (high-density Sony first of all, now I use rechargeable).

Zoom error message

The higher end fuji's are good cameras. The A345 and A350 are a piece of crap. Low end Walmart cameras.
