There are two ways you can follow to change the password of your Cisco E3200 router. The first one is that you can directly reset your router by pressing the Reset button and then change the password by accessing the Cisco router settings online.

The second one is that you have to navigate the http://192.168.1.1 IP address in your web browser to enter your Cisco router configurations. To log into the setup page, you have to input the default username and password that is the admin if you have not yet changed them.

For the step-by-step directions to change the password on your Cisco router - you can click on the

The process might be slightly different, but you will be able to change the password.

A Cisco E3200 has a default IP of 192.168.1.1

Make sure you are connected to the router through an ethernet cable if you dont know the current wifi password yet.

Enter that number into your browsers address bar exactly as I had shown. It will ask you for a username and password. Usually for the E3200, the default user and pass are both " admin ", so you should be able to log in rather quick.

From there you can find the security settings and change the password which will look like WPA Key or WPA2-PSK depending on personal preference.

You should choose WPA2-PSK, as its the strongest in terms of security and cannot be hacked easily.

You might need to reset the password. In order to do this, follow these directions:

  1. Console into the router, then power cycle it. As its rebooting hit the "break | pause" button on your keyboard, and you get to the rommon1> prompt.
  2. Then type rommon1>confreg 2142 rommon2>reset
  3. The router comes back on as if it were new---answer no to the first question, and sometimes it asks a second question (do you want to terminate autoinstall, or something...)---answer yes to the secondquestion if it asks. Then hit enter and you get router> in a few seconds.
  4. Then router>en router#copy start run

create a new account:
  1. router#conf t
  2. router(config)#username bob priv 15 password bob
set register back:
  1. router(config)#confreg 0x2102
  2. router(config)#exit
  3. router#wr
  4. router#reboot

and that should let you login with bob/bob

SOURCE: how can i change the password on my cisco ISB7000 series router?

CISCO/Linksys -To reset the Linksys back to the default settings - Press and hold the pinhole RESET button at the back of the router with the power ON for 20 secs. then release the RESET button.
To connect to your wireless router, the router's wireless settings needs to be configured with the SSID, encryption etc. and also the wireless cards in all the laptops/computers needs to be configured with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.
Connect a LAN cable from the Linksys to the LAN port on your computer.
Open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL
http://192.168.1.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
You can protect your router by changing the default admin PW (write it down and put it in a safe place)
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access.
Now apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.
To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

Want to get my Cisco guest password

Open Cisco Connect then click Guest access. The password is displayed under the Password header.

To go to the Guest access option using Cisco Connect, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Select Guest access at the main screen of Cisco Connect

In the Guests access settings window, you can enable or disable the Allow guest access, change and check the password for the guest network, or change the number of Total guests allowed.

NOTE: The Guest network name is the main network's SSID with -guest as a suffix. If you want to change the guest network's name, you will need to change the main network's SSID.

Cisco E3200 router configuration lost

The Cisco connect software came on the CD in the box with the router. If was used to configure the router when new. This can be used to fix the router now. I could guide you through a manual configuration but the software is a much faster easier method. I would recommend you try that route. Get the CD and run from there if you are worried about phishing.
