The problem is that the display that shows the voltage and frequency is blank. Is this something easy to repair? Can I use the generator without the display?

The generator should be ok to use with lighting and power tools and suchlike but with equipment incorporating computers and computer equipment it would be wise to get the displays fixed in order to be able to monitor the output and protect the equipment.

Not sure why the display won't work. Displays these days are essentially a low voltage device and so some sort of interface will be employed to reduce the voltage to a suitable level, unless the genny also has a 12 volt output and this is employed to drive the display. Unless you enjoy puzzles a circuit diagram will be necessary.

Why won't my stanley 8000 generator put out power?

You have to be missing a switch to turn on the power outlets once it is running. That or a breaker needs to be turned on.

What can i run with a 500 watt stanley converter

Assuming the output is 120VAC, you can only run items pulling about 4 amps. If the voltage output is 220 VAC, you can only run items pulling about 2.25 amps. Read the labels on the devices you want to use, they should list either watts or amps used.

To convert amps to watts: Current times voltage
To convert watts to amps: Watts divided by voltage

I just bought a Stanley 500 watt power converter, and it only works intermittently. The green light starts blinking and power is lost to the device I have plugged in. I have to turn it off, wait a few...

How much is your device drawing ? Does it get hot ? Sounds like a Thermal Shutdown. Does it run nicely when nothing is plugged in ? Be careful with inductive loads, these babies hate them (motors and such)...
