Are you trying to just connect to wifi to access a local network or are you trying to access the internet? If you just want to connect to a local network, maybe to access other devices on the network, you would need a router broadcasting the network that all the devices connect to. If you are only trying to get access to the internet, consider purchasing a hot spot device. It will provide cellular type service and will broadcast a wifi signal that you can connect your tablet or other devices to for internet access. Hot spots will cost you a monthly fee for the service and you will have to purchase the device itself. Another possibility is to use your cell phone as a hot spot and tether the tablet to it. Just remember whatever data you use on your tablet will be charged to your data plan on your cell phone. On my nexus 5x phone, it's fairly easy to turn on (settings, under wireless and networks select more, select tethering and portable hotspot, turn on portable wifi hotspot, set a password if you want to). Once turned on, the phone will broadcast a signal that you can connect other devices to for internet access. Some cellular providers don't allow tethering. If that is the case with yours there are some apps that will still allow you to set up tethering such as AndroidTethering or Easy Tether. In the past, I've had some trouble connecting wirelessly using the apps and found that using USB tether options worked better for me.

This
is normal. To save energy, the ARCHOS always starts up with the WiFi
set to off. You must manually use the Fn-F3 keys if you want to
activate the WiFi connection.
I cannot connect to the Internet over WiFi, what's wrong?
Make sure that your WiFi is activated. This can be turned on and
off with the blue function key pressed down and then the F3 key. The
blue WiFi indicator just below the touch-pad will light indicating that
it has been turned on.
My WiFi router/modem is on and working, but it does not show up in the list of wireless networks. What's wrong?
It could be that the WiFi modem/router is hiding its SSID. This is
done for security purposes sometimes. You can either change this on the
WiFi modem/router (see its instructions) so that it broadcasts its SSID
(and then you'll see it in the list on your ARCHOS 10) or you can go
into the advanced settings of the Wireless Network Connection screen to
the Wireless Networks tab and 'add' a new connection. You will need to
know the SSID name and its other connection parameters.

Please check your password and see the strength of the WI-Fi in your area. If this a wifi of your home wireless modem then check the modem and reset accordingly. switch off power for some time and restart.
If not check your tablet on another wifi to confirm this or if the configuration has gone off from the settings.
make sure that your password and the network is connected as seen on the lower taskbar .
SOURCE: wifi connection is slow
If the wifi network works fine with your laptop and not with your tablet, Then there must some problems with the tablet's antenna. Try for a replacement if it is new.
If the speed test gets hanged on your tablet, Try to test with any other source. For example, you can test the internet connection speed from www.scanmyspeed.com It does not require flash support too. So it has not much chances to get hanged.
When entering the password there is a tick box that allows you to save the settings and connect whenever this wifi available, check the settings from the password page!
Testimonial: "i dont see this tick box. when i enter the settings mode, locate my hub, key in the password, there are 2 tick boxes, one that says show password and one that says show advanced options. neither of these give me the option to save the password."
