If air is coming out from the nose tip but the nailer is not firing any nails, it could indicate a problem with the driver blade or piston assembly. Check if the driver blade moves freely and is not damaged. Make sure the piston assembly is properly aligned and lubricated. Also, check the nail magazine to ensure that it is properly loaded and the nails are the correct size for the nailer. If the problem persists, it may be necessary to take the nailer to a professional for repair.
The most probable are
Leak in air lines, bad valves, bad piston rings or o rings., bad check valve on tank, leaking unloader valve. Tou can google your model number and there will be more info.
No it is not. It should not leak at all. Where is it leaking air from? The 3 obvious places are the exhaust at the top of the head, the nose where the driver comes down, and the trigger valve.
Make sure no nails in gun. With air connected listen for leaking thru nose of the gun also. If leaking thru nose slightly, air is getting past the cylinder seal oring and/or top of cyl is not seating against headvalve. Repair leak to nose of gun before trying to fix head leak. With no air leaking thru nose of gun, add plenty of white grease to orings in the head (one oring at a time) to see if leak is less and/or grease will streak behind the leaking oring. Then repair as needed. May need slightly thicker oring or sand surface where oring makes contact to remove scratches that are allowing air to pass. Also air can enter the head thru the small port in the gasket leading to the head (make sure that the gasket is sealing).
TAKE THE COVER OF THE TOP HAS 2 PHILLIPS SCREWS AND SNAPS OFF. THERE IS A COPPER TUBE THAT GOES BETWEEN THE COMPRESSOR HEAD AND THE CHECK VALVE TAKE THE TUBE COMPRESSION NUTS LOOSE AND REMOVE THE TUBE. CHECK THE RUBBER SEALS IF THEY ARE MISSING OR TORN YOUR COMPRESSOR LEAKS WHEN IT IS RUNNING BUT IF YOU SHUT IT OF THERE IS NO AIR IN THE PIPE SO CHECKING IT WITH IT OF WONT DETECT THE LEAK. MY COMPRESSOR WAS DOING THE SAME THING AN THIS FIXED IT.
You broke the "hammer" you can open the housing and replace it, fairly simply. You can buy replacement parts at most large scale hardware or tool stores. The task takes about 10 min, and some simple hand tools.
