Brand new and leaks all of the air our the top, no power to shoot brad.

hi Philip, if pressing the gun down on timber and pulling the trigger doesn't release the switch to close the valve spray a little lubricant down the inlet connector with the trigger pressed then release. apply air and keep trying and if all else fails I think its time to return for a replacement or refund.

1&1/2 brads gun leaving 1/16 sticking ot of wood.does not matter what kind of wood

Most likely the tip of the driver has broken off. Easy to check, remove the head and pull out the driver. Examine the tip of the driver for evidence of broken tip. If the tip is broken, you could replace the driver or shave the lower bumper to allow the driver to extend out past the tip. Do not shave more than 1/8 of an inch. Good luck

Gun leaks

No it is not. It should not leak at all. Where is it leaking air from? The 3 obvious places are the exhaust at the top of the head, the nose where the driver comes down, and the trigger valve.

Wont fire on the first job

Many new nailguns will fail right out of the box due to dry orings or too much oil or wrong nails. Other problems include bent driver due to double fire or driver hit concrete. Easy to check problem. First make sure that the first nail in the rails is in-line with the path of the driver. If not push driver all the way up with thin metal. If driver is all the way up and the first nail is not in position, suspect wrong nails. If nails are ok, remove nails, remove head and pull out the driver to make sure it is not bent. If driver ok, remove headvalve and lube with white grease. Good luck with your projects.

Air leaks when triggered and no nail

Make sure no nails in gun. With air connected listen for leaking thru nose of the gun also. If leaking thru nose slightly, air is getting past the cylinder seal oring and/or top of cyl is not seating against headvalve. Repair leak to nose of gun before trying to fix head leak. With no air leaking thru nose of gun, add plenty of white grease to orings in the head (one oring at a time) to see if leak is less and/or grease will streak behind the leaking oring. Then repair as needed. May need slightly thicker oring or sand surface where oring makes contact to remove scratches that are allowing air to pass. Also air can enter the head thru the small port in the gasket leading to the head (make sure that the gasket is sealing).

Does the campbell hausfeld model

Sb504000 works just fine with pressure range from 60 to 120 psi depending on material. Any small compressor will work great. Using the gun at max pressure will shorten the life of the gun. Best practice is to set pressure to just under 100psi for most work and increase pressure when nailing hard wood. Using at max pressure will strain the driver and the lower part of gun (screws that hold nose to body). Some hard woods will bend an 18 gauge nail. Good luck with your gun and have fun with your projects.

When should I oil it

if it requires oil the time to do so is first before use 6-8 drops of air tool oil and if using alot when you break for lunch another 6-8 drops. If it is not going to be used for an extended period of time about once a month and cycle the driver at that time.

Just purchased the Model SB504000

Some new guns come with a plastic plug installed from factory where the air fitting goes. Most likely someone installed air plug on the end without removing plug or partial plug (two plugs were installed at factory). Should be easy fix. Remove the air fitting and remove partial plug/debris. Plastic entering thru air supply could lodge on the headvalve causing air leak. Easy to repair by removing head (be carefull not to tear gasket). Some air guns have a plastic filter built into the rear housing used to catch debris and is visible thru air plug but would be about 1.5 inches in from the end of the plug. Good luck with your repair.

Gun fires, leaves good indentation, no nail. WCE

Remove nails and use thin tool to push driver all the way up to top of cylinder. If the gun fires one nail then skips, the driver is not returning to top of cylinder. If no nails fire, then nails are not feeding into proper position. Driver must return to top to allow nails to feed into position. Most common problems are bent driver, worn piston oring and bad batch of nails(head too large). Good luck

Campbell Hausfeld air gun has air coming from the nose tip and no nails

If air is coming out from the nose tip but the nailer is not firing any nails, it could indicate a problem with the driver blade or piston assembly. Check if the driver blade moves freely and is not damaged. Make sure the piston assembly is properly aligned and lubricated. Also, check the nail magazine to ensure that it is properly loaded and the nails are the correct size for the nailer. If the problem persists, it may be necessary to take the nailer to a professional for repair.
