Error E20 means the machine has failed to pump out. 1st check the filter at the bottom right hand side there may still be water inside if so pull the grey tab to the left of the filter there should be a thin hose extend it put it into a shallow dish and pull the cap off to let the water drain this may be a slow process. When the filters out look into the hole with a torch to see if any obstructions in the pump impeller this looks like a cross. If the filters and pump are clear it may be the pump has failed.
SOURCE: error code e40 on my washing machine electrolux
Hi,
The Error E40 warning means the door is not properly closed. The E40 error code indicates a loss of electrical power usually but not always due to the door not shutting properly or not locking. But, since you smelled burning it could be any electrical short that blew a fuse and shut the machine down. It could also be the motor windings with the internal overload protector shutting it down.

I'm sure nojallo1 has already fixed his but I just ran into the same problem and didn't find anything in my searches for a solution. The problem I had was the test cycle wasn't long enough to get hot water through my water lines so it could verify the hot and cold hoses were in the proper places. Solution: Turn the hot water on in all the sinks in your house until they have hot water running through them. This will prime your hot water line so it is full of hot water instead of cold water. Then run the install cycle again and it should be fine.

Error 90 is a common fault code in domestics within the Electrolux, Zanussi, AEG range. It's a wiring fault /connection normally between the printed cicuit board and wires. switch off power, remove lid, pull off each connector on board checking for clip holding the connector in place, one at a time, look for arcing marks, rub pins gently with clean cloth, tensinsion up clips in connector(delicately) and refit. having done this, test again with a wet load on spin, then a wash programme. Before dispairing check the motor coonnections.
