I hooked up my old computer to this VL1916 Princeton monitor and everything is squeezed in from left/right (as if all fonts are condensed). I previously used an HP high definition monitor on this computer. I've try the settings on system and on the motitor itself. Nothing seems to help. do I need to reinstall drivers? where can I get them, if so? Thank you. EZ

Your drivers are fine, Windoze still thinks you have the better monitor connected. In the display settings for the video adaptor, there's a box to check/uncheck for hiding the settings that may not work. If you unhide them, one may be what you are looking for. Optionally, you can delete the monitor and the video adaptor in the hardware settings, reboot and let windows re-detect. That should clear it up. If that doesn't get it, the monitor may have a problem.

You need to reinstall the drivers from the monitor manufacturers website.

Describe your (VL1916) 19" LCD

Did you try this monitor with another PC and already verify that the VGA cable is OK.
Common problem with Princeton monitors are due to bad DC filter capacitors in the power supply board, see example here:

Princeton Monitor is "out of range"

Hi,
The monitor is not getting a video signal. This is probably an issue with your computer. It could be a memory, hard drive or motherboard issue.

Make sure you are getting power to the pc (fans running, hard drive spinning...etc). Then check your memory. Try switching memory slots, or try different memory.

Turn on computer and see if you hear any bios beeps.

Try a different hard drive if you have one.

Good luck,
Hank

PC flat screen monitor to DVD player hook-up

It appears that the monitor was designed to work with the display circuits and software driver on a Personal Computer. There is no circuitry in the display to handle the out put of DVD player. A smart TV has the circuitry. the display does not.

Using with a Mac

Looks like a power save program has hibernated your monitor. Look in Control panel settings to see if the power settings hibernate your monitor. Reset to never and this may fix your problem.

Drivers usually do not fail after 20 mins it is usually a software option set incorrectly.

Also, check the Bios program for correct settings or options.

I haven't had a Macintoch in a while but, this may give you some where to look for the solution

Good Luck
