What's the best way to protect water based enamel paint? I painting a night stand for my daughter and I don't want it to scratch easily. Oil based enamel is more durable but its not an option.

try painting it over with a 2 pack clear epoxy paint
2 pack epoxy paint is about the hardest surface you can get and the clear finish will show the original paint color through
or paint it again using the color in epoxy 2 pack paint

HOW DO I remove red crayon stain and residue from the dryer drum. Gramma did the clothes and forgot to check the pockets

The stain may be permanent, but the first priority is to remove all of the crayon residue. Crayon is wax based, so anything that dissolves or softens wax will help remove it, but be aware that some of these things are flammable [like paint thinner] and somewhat toxic.
First thing I would try is Zep Purple degreaser. It is a concentrated version of the same active ingredient in Fantastic but it isn't flammable. Use rubber gloves and a non scratch scrub sponge.

Try diluting it about 2 parts water to one of the concentrate at first, if that doesn't work try adding a little more concentrate. Full strength may take the shiny finish off of you dryer drum.
You probably want to use a face mask while using it; get one for paint odors or organic vapors.

You should take off the vent hose and try to get as much of the crayon out of the vent passageways.
If the degreaser doesn't work try orange oil cleaner

If the orange oil cleaner doesn't work, odorless paint thinner may, but it will have to dry first and you will have to make sure you have all fumes out of the dryer before using it. Put a fan on the open dryer for 8 or more hours.
After you get it as clean as you can, run a few loads of things that won't matter like work clothes or jeans.

How do I make the red flashing light on the side of my vxi 250 go out?

It might be there to let you know its functioning and if that's the case the options would be to cut a small piece of electrical tape to covr it ... get some model paint in black and paint over it. Even paint can be scratched off later if you need to see if its functioning.

How can i remove scratch from the bodyof my car without spending lot of money

providing scratch isnt too deep you can buy a cutting compound from local factors and polish out. If a little too deep for this you can take back with a super fine wet and dry paper of around p1500 grade with plenty of soapy water first and then compound out but be careful not rub through to primer so very much a game of patience and compromise. If scratch is deep follow same instructions but day or so before touch in scratch to fill the scratch with paint and then carefully compound outer excess touchup so you simply leave paint in scratch.

Scratch on car paint.

It sounds like it hasn't scratched through to the metal yet so you could:

1) Respray the whole panel to remove all unsightliness.2) Touch up the scratch, resulting in quite an ugly repaint.

Scratches on my motorbike

Most scratches can be removed with McGuires fine cut cleaner or medium cut cleaner (depending on depth of scratch) and other rubbing compounds. I suggest hand buffing for the reason that most do it yourself types will burn the paint using power buffers. Follow up with two coats of polish and finalizing with two coats of yellow carnuba wax. Scratches that you can feel with your fingernail will have to be built up with primer and touch up paint.

I have a deep scratch in one of my doors on my Buick. I bought the touch up paint but I'm not exactly sure how to apply it. I have used touch up paint many other times with many cars and it always seemed...

if you are using a mere touch up kit ..i would recommend for about 15-30 cents buying a model paint brush the bristles are much smaller than what comes in the bottle and no you wont need to sand it at all after application it will look very dull but put it on and allow it to simply apply to the scratch only ....unless you know someone in the paint dept...and ask for a bit of clear to mix into the paint it will look dull upon finish

if you are good at airbrush i would suggest merely filling the scratch in just as i described earlier ...unless you are going to actually paint the entire area then your talking blending into either the adjacent areas or merely blending into the area around the scratch ...what ever way you look at it touch up paint will always look dull upon finish
